We flew 12 hrs from Houston to Istanbul with an 8 hr layover, then 1.5 hrs to Athens with a 2hr layover, then 30 minute flight to Mykonos arriving at 0515 local time. We were exhausted but planned our trip to get to Mykonos as soon as we could. I had been using my Visa card up until arriving on the island to find out the taxi's only took cash. We arrived at the hotel close to 0545. The gentleman at reception was so friendly and understanding. He covered our taxi fare with a smile and said not to worry about it until I had time to exchange currency. Check in is normally not until 1400. He said that he'd try to get us a room as soon as possible. And even suggested a few places for us to get breakfast. He offered to watch our luggage as we set off to grab a bite. We returned around 730 to which he offered us to use the pool side lounges to rest and wait for our rooms. His daughter arrived at 830 and quickly got us into our rooms by 930. We had fully prepared to wait until 1400 to get our room, but ownership went out of their way to accommodate our early arrival. The rooms were spacious and extremely clean. Not a single spot of dust or dirt anywhere. The ocean view was amazing. The staff was friendly and helpful. The reception desk made very careful suggestions for places to...
Read moreI spent 5 nights at the Anixi Hotel with a party of six (3 adults/3 kids).|We were provided a 3 bed suite and it exceeded our expectations. |The room was very clean, nicely furnished, had 2 separate bathrooms and big windows which provided unreal views of Korfos Beach. |The patio was a great feature for late night sunsets.|It was difficult to find chairs at the pool area and although I didn't swim my kids suggested the water had a bad taste/smell to it, surprisingly they only lasted 5 minutes and did not wish to go swimming a 2nd time.|That didn't spoil our fun though as the hotel is a close walk to Ornos Beach.|The hotel provides sun umbrellas to take to the beach which is a nice bonus although some days it was too windy to setup.|We visited Ornos, Paradise and Psarou Beach.|Ornos Beach was our favourite with more families, calm/clear waters and soft sand.|The water in Ornos Beach provided some of the best snorkelling I've seen. |Surprisingly, Paradise Beach had the cheaper sun beds of all the beaches.|The location of the hotel is perfect with close proximity to restaurants, laundry, pharmacy and the bus stop is meters away. |Although I did not have many interactions with the staff, I found them to be friendly and even helped us find a shuttle transfer to the ferry terminal....
Read moreGreat rooms. Clean. Lovely family. Always there to help with advice on where to go. Made sure a group of young adults kept noise down as they had a jacuzzi on roof. Clean and comfortable pool area with good amenities for last day for airport. Lovely reception area with good views. On main road but you not a problem. Would suit couples, older families and those with kids. Ideal for the lovely Ornos beach where there are good beach bars and restaurants. Not overly busy as some beaches we saw on the water taxis which you can get from Ornos beach. €20 each to see all we needed to on the South and to see for next time. Really close to Mykonos Town and the famous Shirley Valentine beach - Hippy Fish. Great sunset there and Bar 180 above Mykonos Town. Eleni helped us book the taxi there. Shame I never got to say Goodbye but she was on a few hours well deserved rest. The Grandparents who started it lovely too, as were the granddaughters. Can also hire cars via the hotel. Saying that regular bus service if only staying local which we did with only being there a week and there to relax. Myself and 17 yr old daughter who loved every minute. Would go...
