We felt that the Kapodistrias Hotel was in a good location, and the room was a good size for our stay. Unfortunately, the building was very warm most of the time. We noticed on two occasions that the laundry dryer air vent was exhausting into the building, rather than outside. This caused the temperature in the building and the stairwell to be even warmer than it already was. The air conditioning unit in our room was not very powerful. We ran the air conditioning all night and by the morning our small room was almost a comfortable temperature. Some of the reason that the room could not cool down was because of the numerous air leaks in the windows and doors. The door to the patio did not close tightly, and the window in the bathroom was not sealed, so air was always coming in through the cracks. We really liked the aesthetic of the hotel, but it seemed like many details were overlooked and shortcuts were taken that ultimately detracted from the experience. The shower had a hole in the wall that was filled with silicone, instead of being properly repaired. The ceiling in the bathroom needed another coat of paint. The canopy bed was one of the reasons we chose the Palamidis room. Breakfast was very good and we particularly enjoyed the bougatsa and homemade spanakopita. We would consider staying at Kapodistrias Hotel again if at least some of these issues...
Read moreThe hotel is located in an authentic traditional house in the very heart of the Old Town, five minutes walk from both the bus station and the sea front, and it has its own charming style and atmosphere. It is surrounded by lots of small shops, tavernas and restaurants. So if the colourful atmospere of the Old Town is what you are after, it will be a perfect choice. My room wasn't big, but I had everything I needed (AC, TV, fridge, safe and electric kettle), the bed was quite comfortable. The bathroom was a little too small, but it was ok and very clean. The breakfast was very good, and they even served freshly made juice. The view wasn't all that picturesque (the wall of a neighbouring house) but as nothing else was specified in the room description, I can't complain :) The room had no balcony, but there was a very nice open verandah one floor above, so I was happy to use it to have some rest. The hosts were very friendly, and they checked me in earlier than it was specified, what's more, they carried my luggage to my room for me while I was out exploring the town - nice surprise! WiFi worked perfectly, and everything was great. So highly recommended. If I ever travel to Nafplio again, I'll...
