My daughter and I stayed for 5 nights in late June at Ktima Lino in Naxos. This small hotel was a perfect fit for us and exactly what we were hoping for. It is just a 5 minute walk down a country lane to a busy beach area with shops and taverna (Agia Anna), and an easy 20 minute bus ride to Naxos Town. The property was tranquil, beautifully landscaped and meticulously maintained with a welcoming pool. The hotel itself was modern with cycladic architecture and impeccably clean. The birdsong, occasional rooster and donkey bray heard from our pool loungers were a fitting backdrop for this welcoming retreat.||Vaggelis and his wife, Maria were our wonderful and hardworking hosts during our stay. Veggelis arranged our transportation from the airport, offered suggestions for restaurants, and advice on car rental and places to see outside of their beautiful coastal location. ||Maria was our first welcoming face when we arrived, and she settled us in our room after a very long day of travel with fresh lemonade and homemade cake. She was responsible for our delicious daily breakfasts including choices of: omelettes made to order, eggs, yogurt, fruit, cereal and homemade treats with fresh squeezed orange juice and coffee (filtered, Greek or espresso) and the additional poolside drinks and sandwiches if we found ourselves looking for a simple midday meal. ||Both Vaggelis and Maria were so warm and generous with their time; we deeply enjoyed our conversations and felt we got a glimpse of what living on Naxos was like from people who loved and respected the land and its history.||We rented a Superior Queen Room which was very comfortable and spacious for the two of us. The A/C worked well and the balcony overlooked the landscaped yard, with flowering hedges, olive trees and grape vines, and the adjacent fields. Our room was kept in top shape by our housekeeper, Lia, and was reset daily with fresh towels and water bottles in the minifridge.||Thank you all at Ktima Lino for our beautiful introduction to Greece, and we...

Read moreI'll try, despite the amount of positive things there are to say about the Ktima Lino, to keep things short (despite my lengthy intro!). Room....wonderful. Spacious; extremely tasteful; very comfy and clean bed mattress; beautifully cleaned overall; excellent temperature options; excellent amenities (e.g. fridge and little hello gift, plus things like washing up liquid and sponge - more useful than you think!); excellent shower and loo. ||Location of Ktima....pretty darned perfect.....far enough from the main resort to be beautifully peaceful; a little nature haven (birds, hedgehogs, wonderful insect life, nearby small holdings with cows, sheep, donkeys, hens etc). It's peaceful, a place where you can totally relax with lovely views.||Breakfasts.....absolutely fantastic. Home prepared with love and pride, including little home-made treats involved. Hearty, if you want or as health-focussed as you want. Wonderful options and just ace.||Grounds and pool area.....again, beautiful. Maintained all the time with nature in mind and incredibly clean. The pool area is wonderful with enough sunbeds and shades to have your own space.||Finally, the people.....to me, you learn a lot about a place when you meet the people.||Ktima is a family-run place with love, pride and very high standards and you sense that immediately. The owners, Vaggelis and Maria (plus their wonderful children) ALL care about their visitors as much as, if not more, than their wonderful hotel. They are, quite obviously, a warm, welcoming, hard-working family that want people to feel happy, looked after, informed about Naxos and Agia Anna. They absolutely achieve their aims and we, as a couple, would recommend the Ktima Lino in the highest possible way.||Thanks Vaggelis and Maria....and the same thanks go to your wonderful family and helpers...
