I didn’t have the chance to visit this restaurant the last two years and was so happy to finally make it this year, but I went home quite deluded. It has a very nice atmosphere being hidden behind lots of white stairs, due to the dim lights, banana trees and other beautiful plants, and generally speaking the food was acceptable, but: some starters with fruit and honey are extremely sweet and might be moved to the desserts; we payed a high price for a very small piece (I believe the cut was strange and non-standard) of meat which did not taste good enough for that price and in comparison to the high “meat-standard” of other restaurants on the island; we asked to substitute a vegetable with one from another dish and they kindly agreed (and asked how to preferably cook the vegetables) but presented four tiny slices of that vegetable which was just a sad presentation (also the waitress was embarrassed and didn’t know what to say besides nervous laughing); the moussaka was finished (it happens, I know, but still); the Greek salat would have been with some special bread in the written menu but it came without bread (we asked for bread and had to pay 1€ extra for 3 tiny slices); the place is very dark for dinner and it was a pity as I couldn’t quite see the plates (it seemed to me they were presented nicely though I could see no colours in the dark, but in fact very tiny portions like “gourmet style”). In the end we payed 40€ each (drinks water and coke) but went home slightly hungry and perplexed. I’m sorry if I misinterpreted some parts of the dinner due to the embarrassment and dark, but I hope it might help to improve...
Read moreWe came to Enkai Pan to celebrate my dad’s 55th birthday, drawn in by the beautiful atmosphere — but the entire experience was a letdown from start to finish.
It was extremely hot where we were seated, and we were visibly sweating throughout the evening. It took over 20 minutes for anyone to take our order. When the drinks finally came, one was an Aperol Spritz instead of the non-alcoholic beer we ordered — not even remotely similar, and no explanation was given.
We ordered the octopus, which turned out to be one small tentacle, and it was so chewy and tough it was inedible — we had to send it back. When we told the waitress, she insisted that it was supposed to be like that, and that they were doing their best considering how “busy” the restaurant was. (There were fewer than 10 tables occupied.) The squid portion was slightly better, but still tiny, with most of the plate empty. The beef was low quality and poorly cooked. On top of all this, we had to ask multiple times just to get basic things like salt and lemon.
When I explained that we were there to celebrate a birthday and had a really bad experience, they brought out a piece of cheesecake and two balloons — for a grown man. Honestly, it felt like a joke. The cheesecake was also not good — dry and bland.
For a restaurant with such a beautiful setting and upscale presentation, the service, food quality, and attitude were hugely disappointing. It felt more like excuses than hospitality. Sadly, I would not return or...
Read moreI am quite picky when it comes to food. And I am a woman with a sensitive stomach plus I have gastritis that bothers me from time to time. The food at En Kai Pan is delicious, full of flavour and fresh. It was the only place that did not give me heaviness and problems with stomach . I went for Ravioli twice. They were exceptionally good. Staff brought their appetiser and their feta dip did not contain garlic like other places had. I tried a rib eye steak that my husband ordered. It tasted awesome and the side dish was not just a bunch of French fries. As my stomach is sensitive, I usually avoid a deep fried food but their dessert Baklava was light, fresh and delicious. It was the best I had in Lindos. The atmosphere is relaxing and intimate. The waiters did not hustle and rush us with finishing our meals. We especially liked Noor and Alex. They served us with a great welcome. Noor was very polite, attentive and kind. Alex had the same qualities plus his voice brought the vibes of calmness and charm. If you are like me, having a sensitive stomach and do not want to ruin your vacation with bad experience, try this place. Especially, if you have an important day to celebrate. En Kai Pan will not let you down and will leave nice memories. I wish I could have tried more of their food and Signature drinks! Amazing food and place! Tips: better to book a...
