Rainbird — Restaurant in Municipality of Rhodes

My friends and I have been going to Rainbird for several years now and spend between 200 and 300 Euros on cocktails during the week of our holiday. We will not be spending another cent in there.

It was our last night and we ordered our usual drinks. My cousin and I both enjoy the "Mudslide". On this occasion however, it didn't taste right. It tasted fruity rather than chocolatey. My cousin agreed there was something wrong with the ingredients.

When we called over the waiter, he listened and then shrugged. Like, what do you expect me to do about it? This went on for several minutes without the slightest sign that he was willing to do anything about it until I suggested we paid half price for these two drinks as we were late for our dinner reservation.

The waiter shrugged again, at which point I told him to go and speak with his boss. He came back a few minutes later and started clearing anotger table but made no attempt to speak with me, forcing me to ask him if he had spoken with his boss.

He said he had spoken with him but he wasn't going to do anything.

I said we spend between 200 and 300 Euros in Rainbird every year and we will never come back if you don't do something.

The waiter shrugged again, and said, yes I know, my boss is stupid. At that point I realised that this kind of thing had happened many times before and the waiter knew exactly how his boss would react. He already knew his boss wouldn't be interested and didn't want to face him.

My cousin then said it's not worth it and went to pay the bill as we were late and had to leave. I however went into the bar area before we left and found the owner sitting behind a laptop counting his money.

His face never changed expression. He was completely without emotion, his eyes were dead and he didn't say anything. He pretended not to speak English whilst the waiter did some sort of translation for him. This guy was NEVER going to budge.

Nine times out of ten you will probably have a perfectly pleasant drink in the Rainbird, but on the 10th time, there will be a problem and you will feel so angry and disrespected that you will feel compelled to write a review like this one.

I am home now, but I am still seething 3 days later. Don't touch the Rainbird with...

The views from the rainbird are just WOW! you can see the beautiful beach, and the cliffs, and the crystal blue water. 100% worth it just for the views.

we didn‘t get food, but i just rated it 5, because imagine eating a meal with that view.

the service is okay, its not 100% outstanding, but drinks come quickly, and we didn‘t wait long for them to come and to take our orders.

the atmosphere is friendly and calm. i gave it a 4 because it depends on the atmosphere you‘re looking for, but for a drink, view and chat, it‘s perfect.

the toilets were clean. parts missing but still works. no where to dry your hands.

i had a mocktail, called fruit punch. it was very nice. the larger was cold and fresh.

Just wow. Went tonight based on great reviews from multiple sources. First, drinks were low quality. But what had me shook was trying to close out and being told it was cash only due to the card reader being broke. Why didn’t you tell us when we arrived? My friend walked to multiple atms which did not work. Went a second time with the server to pull out cash. No luck. Spent over 30mins trying to get cash.
