Village Cafe Lindos — Restaurant in Municipality of Rhodes

This place is not for families. We went there this morning and we were told to seat in a place that will fit 4 people comfortably and may fit 5 people but really tight. We were 5 people and a baby, so I asked to be seat in a table that was bigger. I was told that the table I wanted was for 6 to 8 people, I said “we are 6 with the baby” and he said that I couldn’t sit there . The restaurant had only a couple sitting in a table, it was empty, but the waiter still said no. We left. This restaurant clearly only cares about making money and no people. For the waiter/owner my baby is not a person. Babies needs space as well. As mothers we want to be able to place our babies in a high chair and be able to enjoy our breakfast too. I love carrying my baby and put her in my lap, but I want to be able to put her in the high chair and have a little bit of space to move if she gets fuzzy. I had put the Village Cafe on the itinerary for my day trip to Lindos when I was still back in Australia based on their beautiful photos, website & positive reviews - I was not disappointed. Tucked away in a quiet side street in Lindos, the cafe is beautifully designed & immaculately presented. The toilets are free to use for patrons & the cleanest I have experienced in Rhodes. The service was attentive & polite. Unfortunately, we could only order drinks as we were still full from our resort breakfast but were glad we stopped in. Very disappointing experience! The waiter (I assume he’s even the owner - at least he behaved like that) was extremely unfriendly. Basically, he was not answering my questions properly and even when I told him in a very friendly manner that the way he replied was not really appropriate, he was unapologetic and as a result ignored me from then on. Meaning, he served me food (which was btw a ridiculous small portion) without any comment. Overall, I cannot recommend this place and obviously won’t...
