Genuinely sad to say we didn't enjoy our stay here as much as other reviewers seemed to.
Firstly, the location is good, right next to a supermarket, and easy access to the bus stop and Lindos village. It makes a good base for the area. The gardens are well kept and really nice views of the mountains, nice pool.
On arrival I wouldn't describe our studio room as clean. Dirty floor, ants, blood stains on the pillows, as well as a generally grimy bathroom (rusty shower and towel rails, dirty mirror, drain smell etc). As it was late (around 1am) we briefly cleaned ourselves before sleeping. Air con was €10 a day which we felt was high. We were glad we got the safe too though, as we later noticed the cleaning team left our doors open mid cleaning but had disappeared.
The sunbed situation was terrible and also seemed a running joke amongst other guests. There is nowhere near enough beds for the hotel occupancy and people get up to reserve beds from about 6am. By 8-9am every day there would be no beds left at all.
The room is cleaned everyday as other reviews say, but just to empty bins. The bed was changed twice in 9 days and towels every other day. Whenever a cleaner swept, this seemed to add dirt from other rooms to ours including debris that encouraged ants in.
The shower was probably the worst I've had staying anywhere in Greece. Cramped with a stained shower curtain, smelly drain in the floor that was backing up after shower, shower head unstable and falling on us every use. It was particularly awful for my partner who is tall.
If you've never been to Lindos before, be aware it's a walk downhill into the village (~15-20 mins) and then a steep walk back afterwards (shuttle bus to top of hill available in day €1 pp, taxis at night to hotel €5-6). If you like the beach, it's a even further of a walk down (and return) but Pallas Beach is lovely.
There is a clearly a crowd that returns every year who enjoy it but this accommodation wasn't for us. It's hard to go against the consensus but we can only be honest that our experience didnt quite match the other...

Read moreFirst time visiting Rhodes and with the help of Hays travel chose Lindos Athena. On arrival, we were met by the manager and received a warm welcome. Swift check in to our apartment to find it much bigger and better than expected. As we had arrived on a late flight only the pool bar was open until 01.30hrs. The pool opens at 08.00hrs until 20.00hrs. Pool bar/kitchen opened at 09.00 til 12.00hrs for breakfast then the menu changes to light meals and lunches to 20.00hrs. The food was amazing and reasonably priced. As it's self catering, there was a very well stocked supermarket just a few steps outside of Athena entrance/driveway (you will see the supermarket as soon as you arrive at Athena). Thoroughly enjoyed the pool to have a nice swim and cool down and relax. Lindos main centre and beach area is a short walk down hill from Athena. As it was super hot in high 30°c to low 40°c, we got taxis back from the main square to Athena and it was around 5€ (as it was uphill and steep) or 50 cents each to the main road and a nice walk up Krana from there to Athena and took us 5 mins. We had the most wonderful stay at Athena, staff were amazing. The apartment was cleaned every day and fresh towels and bedding too. Athena is set in a beautiful garden setting with a view of the mountains as a backdrop. I can honestly say we will...
