We’ve just returned from a week’s stay at this gorgeous hotel. ||Room:||We chose a room with a private hydromassage pool (room 2501) and it was beautiful. It had a sea view and a view of both pools as well as the hills and entire resort and coastline. The terrace was big, with very comfortable sun loungers and a table & chairs - the terrace got the sun all day so some days we barely left the room. ||All rooms at this hotel do not have a separate bathroom - what I mean by this is the only door in the room is the toilet door. The washbasin is in the room and there is a shower cubicle with frosted glass. We didn’t mind this at all, but I think it is an important point that is overlooked in marketing. As this set up may not be appropriate for all travellers - for example if you are travelling as friends. ||Housekeeping was excellent, not over the top moving everything around, just the right amount of service.||Mini bar also remained well stocked throughout our stay. ||Food & Drink||The food choices are amazing, we chose all inclusive and before travelling I’d read comments about not all options being all inclusive which worried me. Whilst this is true, we honestly didn’t miss what wasn’t included. There is an incredible amount of food and drink choices and you could go all week and not have the same thing twice. The main buffet restaurant has a different theme every day (Italian, Smokehouse, Authentic Greek), and the a la carte restaurants had amazing quality food which you would pay hundreds for in a UK city. ||We loved not having to worry about paying all week and just enjoyed the luxury of all inclusive. We felt spoiled for choice really and could have easily stayed another week! ||What I also liked is as the hotel caters for all inclusive as well as half board and self catering, I thought maybe we’d have to wear some sort of daft wristband. But the hotel just has you scan your room card when you order anything, such a simple and easy system. ||App:||When you arrive you are provided with a QR code to download the app - the app worked perfectly - you could book treatments at the spa, see the daily restaurant menu, order drinks to your sun bed, I even used it to order more pillows to the room. ||Great idea, especially as it keeps things neater not having scattered menus everywhere. ||Spq:||One of the days we spent a morning in the spa and pretty much had it to ourselves - I would highly recommend this! The spa was beautiful, very relaxing, and I had an Asian head massage which was perfect and really reasonably priced. I understand why people prioritise making the most of the sun, but it is so worth a morning in the spa. ||Pools||As per all hotels, people reserve sun beds early. We only managed to get a sun bed round the main pool one morning all week. But after lunch it was easier but still an element of luck. As we had the terrace with sun loungers in our room it didn’t bother us too much. But I can imagine it would be frustrating for a lot of guests. ||If the hotel change the canopy’s on the beds around the pool to be sturdier and moveable to provide shade it would increase the number of beds available - as those were always free but in 35 degree heat you need the option for shade! ||There is the smaller pool with the river but that seemed more crowded and not as relaxing as the main pool. ||Beach ||The beach is gorgeous, warm water, comfortable loungers - bear in mind if you order drinks to your sun beds on the beach you will be charged a service charge - it’s minimal at a couple euros I think, but worth mentioning. Take sea shoes! Made all the difference to us walking in and out of the water. ||You will always find a sun bed on the beach. So good to have that as an option if the pool sun beds are full.||Evening entertainment ||Very low key, which suited us, just a relaxing vibe. ||However - you may hear next doors hotel entertainment day and night which is more family focused and LOUD. If you’ve booked one of the villas with the private pool you will hear it throughout your entire holiday as the villas are on that side right next to the hotel. It didn’t really bother us but we said we’d be hugely disappointed had we opted for one of the villas. ||Sentido management really need to try and do something about next doors hotel if they can. ||Check out ||Finally - on our last day we weren’t leaving for the airport until 7pm. We were given two options by the hotel. 1. Keep our room for 25 euros an hour, or 2. Check out of our room at 11am, use the luggage room to store our cases and have a courtesy room for an hour before we left the hotel. ||We went with option 2, so spent a normal day at the hotel, then showered and changed for the airport using a normal guest room (which was right next to luggage room so didn’t have to carry our cases to the other side of the hotel). Such a lovely, practical idea and meant we had a whole final normal day at the hotel. They also gave us an all inclusive card to use (as we had to give our room key back at check out), so we didn’t miss out on any food or drink all day. ||All in all we had a wonderful relaxing holiday and would recommend the hotel, particularly with our...
Read moreOur 2 week Stay at Sentido Port Royal in Rhodes was sensational. We arrived late and it was a lovely surprise to find a welcome sandwich. Very thoughtful. We had booked a sea view room. It was spacious with beautiful furniture and large shower room. Two sisters cleaned our room and it was immaculate. They took care of every detail. The bed was so comfortable and Zoe the manager was always around with such a warm smile. In the morning when we pulled back the curtains the view was stunning. The Sun rise from the beach is magnificent but you will need to get up at 6.30ish.
Guest services were organised by Maria such an incredible lady who has worked at the hotel for 15 years. Her energy was so lovely and she was so elegant. I think Nicos also helped and another brilliant guy. Anything you needed was provided. When we asked for more water it arrived so quickly. We even like Soya milk in our tea and Maria always made sure we had this in our room. Words really cannot describe how brilliant Maria and her team were.
Our breakfast was fabulous with so much choice. Michael the manager is always on hand to take care of everything with his captain Flora and team Georgia and others. We had so many breakfast choices. We loved the fresh orange juice and we made our own Greek coffee which was so tasty. The restaurant has so many breakfast bars it had something for everyone and more. The hotel is conveniently located between Rhodes town and Lindos.
We booked a car one day from the lady at the hotel. I think she was called Maria. It was so easy without any extra charges. We went to Lindos for the day which is only a 30 mins drive.
The facilities in the hotel are so many with yoga and fitness classes and tennis. Many people enjoyed ping pong. The swimming pools are stunning and in the evening they are lovely with all the sparkly lights:)
We were at the beach most days and the sun loungers were very comfortable. We had fresh beach towels which you could collect whenever you needed from the main heated swimming pool.
The Spa was luxurious. We used the swimming pool and Sauna daily. You must experience the lighting in the swimming pool at night:) The Spa is always lit by many candles and is so relaxing. Top notch. Stomatia was my masseus who was a very lovely, warm and professional. Iona and Felio organised everything in the Spa and they had all the knowledge of the treatments and products. They took care of us so well.
Each night was themed. We had so much choice you will really have to experience this. I am vegan and Nikos was the Sou chef and was like a super hero. He was truly a talent. He would walk round all the food counters each evening and explain what I could eat. I have never experienced this level of kindness. He was just born to be the best chef. His team were brilliant. Adonis who made wonderful tacos and different themed foods outside. Another brilliant chef was on the live counter and we are sorry we can’t recall his name. He was so cheerful and happy. We only got to see many chefs and Nicos at work in the Al carte restaurant. It was open plan kitchen so it was wonderful to watch him and his team as the orders rolled in. The food in this restaurant was incredible too. They have a wood fired oven and the smell is mouth watering. The deserts were presented on so beautifully. The desert counter was out of this world with always egg free options. The other waitresses who were super were Koula, Athoula and Theodocia. A pianist called Yanis accompanied dinner and it was so relaxing. The music entertainment was very good with even some lovely musicians playing. In summary. We just feel so blessed to have experienced the Port Royal in Rhodes whilst the facilities and everthing catered is certainly 5 stars what makes this hotel so very special are the people who work there. They are mindful, thoughtful and kind. They really want you to enjoy your holiday and be happy. They care! Nothing is too much for them. The people are a credit to this hotel Group and it was our good fortune to have met...
Read moreI stayed here for a week at half-board, this was my first experience doing a semi inclusive package at a 5 star hotel and I had very mix feelings. My “bungalow” was an apartment style room with a seaside view. I saved some money and did not get the private pool since there were two right outside the steps.
Pros: Great daily fitness classes taught in an outside platform. The yoga and Pilates instructor was fantastic. AC and room balcony were great. Sunrise view over the ocean was beautiful. Multiple pools to pick from, pools not heated. The towels were only kept at the large pool requiring you to carry one if you went anywhere else on the property. Very clean grounds and landscaping. There was a odd dirt hole on the way to the beach which needs work. Private path to beach, easy access with lounge chairs already set up Friendly staff! The staff is always eager to help. The bar near the pool made one of the best cocktails I’ve had in a long time. It was extremely expensive at 15€. Menu prices were marked up 2x compared to what I saw in town. Fun nightly DJ at the pool. Pool lights up at night creating a magical vibe.
Cons: Check-in was extremely awkward. After signing in they hand you an iPad and a QR code to enter all your info in yourself. Tried to make the moment better with a free glass of cava but it was grossly sweet. Bad communication on what was included with the board package and what was not. The restaurant above the pool you weren’t allowed to go too but it wasn’t stated anywhere so I had an awkward convo when the bill came even though the menu had “the crown” symbol on my items. This symbol was meant to be free for all the board packages. They also had items off menu around 14-20€. Felt like they made it extra uncomfortable and hard for those who did not have full board. Any time you went to dinner or lunch they would instantly bring you your bill for your €4.50 water before you even started eating which is pretty rude. Made reservations at Cibus, showed up and was told a more important guest was going to that table instead. The place was empty, it made me feel unwelcome. Rooms could use some renovation. My tub had cracks in it and the door was barely functioning. Got stuck opening and closing. There was also an ant issue. Gym is very outdated and the showers flooded the bathroom. Need to make reservations to use everything. Sauna you had to turn on yourself to use, heated around 95. The food was not up to a 5 star standard. The breakfast buffet was the same exact tired pastries, eggs made from a mix and not ripe fruit daily. The dinner buffet had a big range but the quality was not there. Lot of the meat dishes were overly salty and the salads lacked creativity. The best food I found in the buffet were the simpler items; feta cheese, tomatoes, olives, grilled pork skewers. The buffet menu felt very touristy and the temperature of the food wasn’t warm (Spagetti, soggy grilled veggies, sad beef in brown sauce, dried meatballs, 3 basic noodle dishes, white fish in sauce…) Being half board meant you still had to pay €4.50 for water and only got to pick from the main buffet for dinner or the Italian spot next to the pool. The Italian menu did not change from the 3 pizzas, a few pastas and two salads options which were both overly dressed. By the 3rd day I wish I didn’t do board at all and had a car to explore proper local dishes. Cleaning. The staff doesn’t respect the do not disturb light, barging in several times while in the shower or on the phone. Trash bag piles are left around the property all day to be picked up with the rooms dirty laundry. One pile was always at the end of my staircase. Need a car to explore. There was a bus and a tour stand in the main road to make plans to see Rhodes city or Lindos. I recommend renting a car to eat at more local establishments and explore more...
