Olio Pizza Pasta Kolymbia — Restaurant in Municipality of Rhodes

We waited over an hour for our food. Initially it looked promising and we’d seen good things online. We sat outside, the place wasn’t full. Ordered swiftly and the staff were nice and friendly initially. It just took forever to get our food and drinks. They seemed flustered, well one staff member, the rest were milling around. One man was standing around. Cleaned one table and lit one candle the entire time. All staff avoided us so couldn’t get anyone’s attention. Finally managed to get someone’s attention and they didn’t understand us, which isn’t an issue we appreciate there is a language barrier, but our food did then come at that moment. But it was only half our order. We asked for the rest and it took another 10 mins to come. The food was ok but not amazing my mushroom pasta dish was small for €17 and the sauce was basically mushroom soup. The bruschetta wasn’t bruschetta just hot pizza crust and some bland tomatoes. It was very disappointing for the price and considering it wasn’t even busy. One table got their food before us despite arriving after. One large table seemed to have issues too with slow service. No one came over to apologise or say there’d be a wait. Which would have been fine, we’d understand. They seemed understaffed or either just not well managed. One woman seemed to be doing most of the work. Got up and paid and left, again no apologies we didn’t even bother to attempt to say anything as they didn’t seem bothered at all. Maybe an off night I don’t know but...

Had a dinner here with my family tonight. We had chosen this place beforehand, but checked out the menu outside after we found the place. After we were done looking at the menu I raised my head and saw an older gentleman taking couple steps towards us and raising three fingers. I raised three fingers to confirm, and he pointed us to a table.

Moment later a waitress came with a big smile on her face to give us the menus and after a brief moment she took our order.

Drinks were served fast, bottled water was cold and refreshing and the cocktails were okay. Mojito was nothing special but good, Mojito Strawberry was great according to my spouse. I have nothing bad to say about the cocktails, but nothing special either.

The food arrived quickly, faster than I had anticipated. Which was a great thing, since we had our 4-year old with us and he was hungry. Kids menu was tiny, but it had the chicken nuggets with fries which was what we were after. My Spouse ate pasta and she told me it was a delicious mistake. Delicious as in great pasta and a mistake as in too much for her to handle. I went with pizza margherita. And it was a great pizza, not amazing, not the best pizza I've ever had but a great pizza. Good ingredients, thin crust and a napolitan feel to it.

During our holiday in Kolymbia, Rhodes, we had the pleasure of dining at Olio Pizza and Pasta – and it was without a doubt one of the highlights of our trip!

The restaurant offers a warm and relaxed atmosphere, with friendly staff who made us feel truly welcome. The service was fast, attentive, and always delivered with a genuine smile.

The food was absolutely top-notch! We tried both pizza and pasta, and everything was made with care and a clear focus on quality. The pizza had a thin, crispy crust with perfectly balanced toppings, while the pasta was fresh, flavorful, and served with delicious homemade sauces. You could really taste the freshness and quality of the ingredients.

We ended our meal with dessert and a cup of espresso – the perfect finish to a memorable dinner.
