Oisyra Boutique Hotel — Hotel in Municipality of Syros and Ermoupoli

We booked a stay there with Booking for several days. On the day of the arrival, we had an issue with the ferry which prevented us from arriving on that day.||We contacted the hotel because we wanted to check-in the following day but keep our reservation (of course paying by all booked days, including the night we would not spend there).||||The manager said via messaging that we were a no-show because we would not arrive on the scheduled check-in date. We tried calling and this person Dimitri PRETENDED NOT TO KNOW ABOUT ANY HOTEL, which made us think the contact number was incorrect. We contacted Booking, and the kind attendant informed us she could only help with confirmation from the property - she tried contacting the hotel several times, with no success. At midnight sharp we received an email saying the property marked us as no-show and the full price of all nights would not be reimbursed. They never picked up the phone again.||||This property and this manager are a shame to the otherwise very welcoming Greek hospitality industry and people, and I hope more people will have a chance to be warned and avoid this...

I took the Oisyra Boutique Suites which is the other hotel belonging to the owner, located in the heart of Syros town (georgioi souri street).||I booked a deluxe room for me and my kid and I got surprised as we were upgraded to a lovely suite with a large balcony overlooking at Syros ' town hall.||The owner was very friendly, helpful and kind; he immediately brough us an iron on request. |The suite was spacious, clean, modern and the A.C. was working perfectly but you just needed to adjust to your favorite temperature. The mattress was comfortable too. ||The location was perfect, near everything, it took us few minutes to walk to the Agios Nikolaos church, the Apollon theatre and the Vaporia area. ||During the night, our balcony was above a bar which was a bite noisy but I did not mind as I could enjoyed a drink with some music in our terrace while my kid was sleeping. ||Last, during our check out we could let our luggage in the main corridor and enjoying this magnific city before departure. ||N.B. : as I booked this place without a breakfast , there is a nice coffee place...
