The first night we arrived was not great. Having landed at 10.30 and pre-booked a shuttle with the hotel 2 days prior to our arrival, we were left outside the airport waiting for our pick up. We were supposed to have been collected at 10.45pm by Memory Travel who our hotel works with, after a few phones calls and assurances that the shuttle was coming we decided that at 11.15 we'd look at getting a taxi - waiting 30 minutes was not good enough. We got a taxi for the same price as the shuttle and phoned the hotel to let them know we had left the aiport (although they still tried to assure us the shuttle would arrive soon). One taxi ride later we arrived at our hotel and were shown to our room - it was cramped, we couldn't get the window shut, the door to the room rattled in the wind, there was a curtained window above the bed meaning we got hit by the curtain, the metal work was tarnished, and bedside lamps were right above our heads (my friend and I had booked a twin room). In addition to an unwelcoming room, we then suffered the sound of dogs barking throughout the night.
The following morning we didn't want to stay at the hotel and asked about getting a refund. We were told by the receptionist we could not get a refund and we explained our unhappiness with the room, she offered us the chance to move into a suite as a free upgrade. This room was much better although the lighting was a little dull and the door handle fell off on the following day (thankfully fixed in the same day). Had we had a better quality room the first night I would mark this hotel higher, unfortunately the first room made me think this place wasn't even one star and the hotel has redeemed itself somewhat by giving us the suite, but I would not wish to stay here again knowing how expensive it is for what I could get there...
If you do think of staying here be prepared to walk 15 minutes along unpaved roads into town to go anywhere nice.
On our last morning we tried to book a taxi and were unsuccessful so asked the hotel to book us one. They booked with the same company that was meant to pick us up from the airport on our first night. The car turned up 5 minutes late and then stopped off at another hotel to pick someone up then took us all to the airport - disappointing as we'd booked a taxi and asked to be picked up at a particular time so we would arrive in time for our check-in, we hadn't been warned that we would be...
Read moreNot a 4 stars hotel! This is at most a low level 3 stars. General infrastructure: old, electricity cables can be seen and out, humidity in the walls, small place for breakfast same as restaurant with poor ventilation. During summer they cook at night and because air con is on in the morning you have breakfast with the smell of last night dinner. Breakfast: almost nothing. I’m gluten free and requested it and they had nothing. Bathroom of superior suit small, no place to put toiletries. The rooms are upstairs (some) and they have no one to bring the suitcases up. I requested large bed they told me O had to call them directly and request one more time. I got two singles. When I arrived I got a basement to the road outside the hotel as a room. I complaint and they gave me the superior suit which is not… this is just a super basic review. There are other things. Last, if you want to walk around, the hotel is about 30 minutes walk to Fira as it’s uphill and 14 coming down. The sea view is not to the nice part but to the other side of the island. Don’t book this hotel! There are better and nicer ones in the nicer area. Where at least you can walk outside and find lots of coffee shops. The water cannot be drink, you arrive, walked up the stairs with your suitcases at 30C and you have no water and this supposedly 4 stars hotel does not give you complementary water. Also you have to leave your dirty toilet paper in a bin because they have a sign of not dropping toilet paper in the toilette. It’s bad! A really bad hotel. If you booked a 4 stars hotel and are used to standard 4 stars then don’t book this. Last, but important. No blinds! The yellow curtains are translucid so will wake up with the first...
Read moreImpolite and disrespectful management
The room and hotel in general did not live up to our expectations (especially considering the price!). So shortly after we arrived (2 pm), we asked the manager politely if we could check out earlier, e.g. a few days before scheduled, meaning that we would still stay there for three nights. Since we still hadn’t heard back from him by the time we came back from dinner (9.30 pm), we asked the manager again, but first he acted like he didn’t know what we were talking about, and next he became very aggressive and unpleasant saying that we could not check out earlier (and get our money refunded for the last few days). We were not happy, but agreed that we had to accept the decision and try to make the most of our incredible expensive stay. But two hours later (11.30 pm) – when we had gone to bed – we were rushed up by an aggressive banging on the door. The manager was angry and wanted us to leave right away. We felt very intimidated and did not feel that we were given a fair treatment but refused to leave unless we got our money back. The next couple of days we did not feel welcome and in hindsight, we should have left Milos Villas as fast as possible and cut our losses.
Definitely not a place I would recommend staying. Quality-wise it is more like a one or two-star hotel – nice at the surface, but a bit dirty and many things...
