We booked this hotel thinking it would be a bit dated, but clean and well-kept.||We were disappointed that upon arrival the floors were gritty with dust. We wiped the floors with a towel because it was 1 am when we arrived.||There were some dead bugs along the walls and a few live centipede sightings (it happens, but the old doors do not seal well and the bathroom was consistently damp so it seemed to attract more bugs).||We did get fresh bedding and towels each day. We only received instant coffee in our room on the first day and after that had to ask for it from the front desk.||The bathroom was the most disappointing aspect of this hotel. It was very dingy and had clearly not been upgraded for decades.|A few small touches like a regular bathroom mirror (as opposed to a tiny flimsy plastic one), a small vanity or countertop to store toiletries, and an actual shower cabinet that can be cleaned instead of a curtain, would make all the difference.||Water gets all over the floors during a shower as the curtain hangs outside the basin anyway.||We had probably the squeakiest bed I've ever heard, so if you are a light sleeper be prepared to wake up whenever your partner turns over. My husband mentioned this to reception after our first night but it wasn't fixed and continued to squeak to the point where he just ended up sleeping in the other single wooden bed instead, a bummer during our honeymoon.|Upon checking out we could see obviously one of the bed supports was broken (pictured) which would have been an easy fix.||We appreciate that this was more of a budget option compared to other hotels in the area, but were overall disappointed in Prekas given how easy it would be to improve the guest experience with a small amount of effort...

Read moreDue to booking the Captain’s Suite on a non-refundable basis, owner & Mr Lefteris was most kind in helping to postpone trip for 2 years due to the pandemic, efcharisto indeed! ||||We later changed our booking for a 2-3 pax Apartment no 5, great choice as the Apt has an extra comfy sofa bed (a tad narrow so not for big sized men!). Everything looked quite new and functional! On request, we had a portable stove, pots and pans delivered. First time cooking simple dishes in Santorini, a bliss! ||||At 30 sqm, it was cosy enough for two with a nice balcony co-shared with room 6. Apt 5 is right below Reception and the public walkway and has just a few steps. However, passers by may see you from the public path if you are on the balcony …not a big problem for us. If privacy is more important than steps, then i would recommend Apt 7 or Double Room 6 or 8. ||||Sunsets were nice and unblocked. You can see Oia and Thirasia island from the balcony. This town is indeed less busy than Fira and Oia which we had stayed 14 years ago. As the Central bus station is in Fira, if you are not driving, Fira might be more convenient for day trips. ||||Overall, this hotel did not disappoint and kind manager Mr Lefteris makes all the difference!!! Thank you for...
