PENSION MANGO — Hotel in Skiathos Municipality

I want to start my review with good words about the two lovely girls that manage the structure ALONE . They are nice, gentle but abandoned in this place , maybe too young to face and solve any problem. ||from our arrival late at night, problems started one after the other |Electricity issue: every ten minutes light went off and on …causing problem with the temperature of the room …you know without electricity …air contrition doesn’t work! Every evening on our return from the beach the same problem ..and after one week we faced the same problem but starting from the early morning!! So no coffee at breakfast!!! ||Bathroom: no shelf to put bath stuff, poor quality of toilet seat …also broken! ||Breakfast: again low quality …nothing to toast bread!!! Unbelievable!! only Nestcaffe from an automatic machine…no fresh orange juice ..only boiled eggs and synthetic ham …||Cleaning: not quite satisfactory …the way to clean the room very approximative and definitely insufficient ||The manager never turn up to help the girls …and maybe also to apologize for the uncomfortable situation ||Then another problem on Saturday, after one week ..during my shower I discover that there was no hot water … so I had a cold shower!!!! ||After that, we had our dinner and when we decide to wash dishes….there was no water at all ||the manager, again, doesn't show up and doesn't even call to apologize and give any explanation|Apologies at this point are superfluous and useless||We paid a massive amount of money in advance aspecting a different treatment..not such a cheap place|The rate was very high for what we received in return ||At this point I’m definitely disappointed and I’m going to pretend a refund to compensate this awful situation which...

This place and all their staff are scammers. We tried to contact the property before our arrival early June 2024, to advise that we will arrive late in the evening as our flight only arrived in Skiathos around 9pm. We had no response from them and had to find our own way. Shortly before our arrival at Mango Skiathos, we were flagged down in the dark by a staff member who said there was no electricity and we needed to be accommodated in one of their other hotels. We had to pay double for the taxi fare as the other accommodation was back in the main town. We did not really have a choice to move to their alternate accommodation as it was too late at night to make other arrangements. The accommodation that we were moved to had none of the facilities we originally expected and was of a much lower price and standard that we have paid for. It was in a completely different location, noisy, uncomfortable, and close to the main town, that we specifically wanted to avoid. The staff continuously lied about the situation and thought the inferior option they had to offer would be sufficient. It seems to be a great way to get people to pay a lot for terrible, low budget accommodation. We had to find other accommodation on our own and nearing peak season, it was difficult to find something at a reasonable rate with the facilities we originally expected and already paid for. We lost an entire day of our holiday, stranded with all our luggage in town. We had to spend double the amount and still ended up with having to settle with two single beds and a sofa bed. It was challenging, as we are over 50 with health issues. I truly hope organizations who list Mango Skiathos will remove them from their accommodation sites to avoid more people...
