Yalos Restaurant — Restaurant in Skiathos Municipality

All in all we didn't feel welcomed at all. We didn't have a reservation which seemed to be a problem at first. After some discussion between the waiters we were offered a table. They took a long time to take our order, so we felt like a burden, even though we were relatively early at dinner and there was literally one other table occupied. Since we eat vegetarian we only wanted to order a variety of starters to eat them all together. The reaction of the waiter was pissed, at least it felt that way. After that we just wanted to go and finished our meal in a short period of time even though the ambient would have been very nice. The different waiters didn't even smile once at us. They also didn't smile to each other which made the impression that they hate their job. The only nice employee we met was the lady behind the bar that got us the cheque. She was very sweet and we even had the feeling she also doesn't enjoy being here and didn't enjoy working with her colleagues. All in all the restaurant gave us the impression, that they want to be something special by actually being extremely average. The food was okay but nothing special. Absolutely adore this place!! Outstanding food and the most gorgeous setting. Wonderful atmosphere and attentive staff. They seem to have their own Veggie patch too which I love. The food is truly fantastic. So good we went back again in our short visit to Skiathos. I had a beetroot and apple starter with greek Yoghurt and nuts. Perfect. Then the sea bass with roasted veg and a wonderful lemon butter sauce. I've never had better! They brought out an amazing Yoghurt with lime and mint that tastes like the best cheesecake you've had to finish. It seems tough to order dessert in Skiathos. You have to catch a waiter to order but id recommend the Chocolate Creme dessert. It's the tastiest chocolate mousse covered in a thick dark chocolate shell. Hadn’t booked so felt unwelcome when walking in. Food was ok but no side salads or vegetables to be seen and unaware if we were to order them separately even though we asked. I think they were frustrated as we ordered soft drinks instead of wine. Bad service with no friendly Interaction and even got told off as asked for salt and vinegar. He said well try it first as we make it all here.. lol Then completely ignored, no clearing of the table yet we would have still stayed for coffee and dessert but 20 minutes of ignoring us after we’d finished we chose not to so asked for the bill and went elsewhere for more drinks and desserts.. not a friendly Greek...
