We booked this hotel as part of a package holiday, and weren't too sure what to expect...however we were pleasantly surprised! |The rooms themselves were of a good size with a nice balcony (which we could see a little bit of sea from) and generally very clean. |It feels like they have been maintained well and the air conditioning units were an absolute godsend with daily temps reaching 37 in the day and still 30 degrees at 10pm so we slept sound even though it was roasting outside. |The beds were HUGE and comfortable, the little fridge held 5 1.5L bottles with a little freezer, there was a safe in the room, and all of the other little amenities you would expect. |You can tell this hotel is family run and loved by the family which owns it as they always offered a welcoming hello and were nothing short of lovely! |The pool area is small but has a very personal and private feel about it. Nice little pool with retractable roof as well as a little sitting area which is usually covered but they will open to get all of the sunlight on request. |The mature garden area caught the sun all day and had both comfortable shaded sitting areas and sunbeds for the sun worshipers. It was a nice place to relax surrounded by some nice flowers and olive and bay trees.|The hotel also has a full bar area, with evening opening times (6pm onwards), however they would happily go and get you a drink if you asked at the front desk.|One evening, I popped down to the bar for a couple of cocktails to take up to the room and sip as we got ready. The barman told me that it would take a little time to prepare them and that he would bring them to the room once they were ready...and 10 minutes later the knock on the door came which we thought was a lovely personal touch! ||The breakfast was basic, but had all of the basics. I wouldn't have expected anything more from a hotel with only 17 rooms! Coffee, orange juice, watermelon, cereals, bread, greek yogurt, cheese and deli meats, etc.||The location of the hotel was ideal. 2 minute walk to some nice eateries (Tavernaki, Ambrosia, Pigi were all nice), a 5 minute walk to the main shopping street which has everything you'd expect, and a 5 minute walk to the nearest beach. ||All in all, we really enjoyed our stay at Hotel...

The hotel is ideally located at only about 5 mins walk from the shops, bars & sea & harbour of Thassos town, the capital of Thassos. There is also a bar at the hotel, which is nice if you wish to finish the night near to your bed. The rooms all have tea making facilities, fridge, air conditioning, TV, & a lovely wet room, with new showers. Each room has its own balcony. The beds are comfortable & the beds are spotless clean, as is the rest of the hotel. The towels & beds are changed every other day. The family owners put in a great deal of time & love into the business & are always on hand if you need them. Breakfast is continental, with beautiful fresh bread every morning. There is a choice of fresh fruit & jams, honey, figs, greek yoghurt & also hot food available if that is your preference, along with juice & hot drinks. There is also a small indoor swimming pool & the roof comes off during the day & covered at night, so you can use the pool at any time of the day. The family, Panos, Roula & Nikos, are very pleasant, helpful & attentive & are committed to making your stay with them the best it can be. The staff work very hard to keep everywhere clean & running well. Many people regularly return to this hotel year after year & I would definitely recommend the Lido for your stay in Thassos Town.||Trip type||Vacation|||Travel group||Couple|||Rooms||5|||Service||5|||Location||5|||Hotel...
Read moreI Recently stayed at the Lido hotel with my sister. The hotel is boutique style and quite quirky with a nice pool area. The room was quite basic. It had adequate wardrobe and cupboard space, a fridge and a good size balcony. There was a kettle and cups and saucers but no coffee, tea and milk. I requested these from reception but was told we had to pay for them. Had we known this we'd have brought some with us. Our room was on the second floor overlooking a main street and closest to the busy junction. The traffic noise was so loud at times we could hardly hear ourselves talk whilst sitting on the balcony. We appreciated that the hotel was centrally located but even with the balcony doors closed the traffic noise was keeping us awake most nights. Not to mention some of the guests slamming doors when arriving back in the early hours. Some of the Tui guests we spoke to were located at the back of the Hotel which overlooked the gardens and were much quieter. The gardens were nice with lovely seating areas and the odd few sunbeds which had seen better days. Breakfast was the usual continental style with cereal, museli, eggs, cheese and ham. On reading some of the earlier reviews prior to our visit we were under the impression there was a pool bar. Although it didn't state this in the description quite a few reviews mentioned the bar so we were quite disappointed to find it wasn't open anymore. The hotel is in a good spot for all the local amenities but request a room at the back and not overlooking the busy road if you want...
