Villa Olivia — Hotel in Thassos Municipality

We stayed at Villa Olivia in July 2012 after finding their other establishment (Apartments Eleftheria) the previous summer. My kids were so excited that we were returning to the Thassos. My family of 4 are of Greek background and born and raised in Canada. I am trying to return to Greece as much as possible so my kids will fall in love with the country. Yes, I'm trying to brainwash them! Apart from visiting relatives throughout Greece, it is important to be able to have some alone family time. For us a place like Villa Olivia is perfect.||||The island is beautiful (there is marble everywhere). The proximity to Thessaloniki is great and although we could have stayed in Chalkidiki we wanted to stay on an island. Thassos has a charm and hasn't been completely overrun by thousands of tourists like Santorini and Mykonos.||||Villa Olivia has spacious rooms that are clean and well maintained. The establishment is run by a family of Greeks that were raised in Germany. They are fluent in Greek, German and English. It was so easy to communicate with them, especially for my kids. My kids loved to open yard where they could run around and play with the little baby kittens, the dog and Soumela the goat!!! The even started calling the owner "Theia Eleftheria".||||The beach is only a couple of hundred metres from our room. There are restaurants, variety stores and pretty much everything you need within walking distance. Having a car with us was great as we got to explore the island.||||The son Mario was always available and even hung out with us on the beach sometimes. Overall, both our stays have been more than pleasant. I highly recommend either Villa Olivia, or their other place...

I´ve been there twice with my husband and two children and my mom.||We had 2 apartments next to eachother. The aparments are perfect sized and very clean with a very nice balcony. The owners are very friendly,helpful and very hospitable.We felt very comfortable and always had the feeling of being welcome.The beach and the sea is absolutely a dream,we´ve never seen such a clear and beautiful sea.Also the beach is very clean with beautiful white sand!!I´m not exaggerating,I can only tell you these 2 vacations were the best we ever had.||And we were often in 5Star Hotels or Robinson Clubs.......,but none of them were comparable with such a vacation!!!!!||Thank you family Schwab for the wonderful time!!!!!!...

Ursprünglich wollte wir im April 2020 nach Thassos kommen. Wegen Corona war das jedoch nicht möglich und so flogen wir erst im September 2021 nach Griechenland.||||Ich gebe 5/5 Sterne für die Villa-Olivia!||||Warum:||Das Haus und die Appartements sind äußerst gepflegt und sehr hochwertig eingerichtet. Die Badezimmer sind besonders schön!!! ||Die Inhaber sind so wunderbar.. immer freundlich und bemüht, dass sich der Gast bei ihnen wohl fühlt. Ein gemeinsamer Grillabend bewies ein weiteres Mal ihre großartige Gastfreundschaft. ||||Das Haus ist perfekt für 6-9 Personen (3 Appartements). So kann man wunderbar einen Aufenthalt mit einer Gruppe planen. Ob mit dem erweiterten Familienkreis oder mit Freunden läßt sich so das gesamte Haus nutzen. ||||Für die Zeit des Aufenthaltes empfiehlt sich ein Auto. Zum 3km langen Strand (Golden Beach!!) gelangt man zu Fuss in wenigen Minuten. Der nächste Supermarkt ist 1,2 km entfernt. Morgens kommt ein Fischer vorbei und bietet jeden Tag frischen Fisch zum Kauf an. Die zahlreichen sehr guten Restaurants lassen sich am ehesten mit dem Auto erreichen. Ein 2Rad oder ein Geländewagen kann man sich tageweise buchen. Mit dem Auto erreicht man auch am besten die Sehenswürdigkeiten und Strände der Insel. ||||Recht bewusst haben wir den September/Oktober als Reisezeit gewählt. In den Sommermonaten war die Villa-Olivia ausgebucht. Wer Juni-August nach Thassos kommen möchte, sollte schon jetzt buchen. ||In der Nachsaison war es einfacher zu buchen. Nur wenige Urlauber tummelten sich an den Stränden... auch in den Restaurants musste man nicht reservieren. Die Temperaturen lagen zwischen 20 und 24 Grad. Das Meer hatte zwar keine 28 Grad wie im Sommer, aber mit ca. 22 Grad war das Wasser noch angenehm warm. ||Wir fühlten uns als absolute Gewinner! Die Vor- und die Nachsaison ist eine perfekte Zeit, um die Insel kennen zu lernen. ||||Wer den Trubel, und Temperaturen über 30 Grad bevorzugt, der kommt ab Juni nach Thassos. ||||Die Insel ist eine Reise wert und die Villa-Olivia ist eine...
