Periyali Villas with Private Pools — Hotel in Zakynthos Municipality

We (family with 2 children aged 17+19) stayed in the Kaliopi villa for 10 nights (end of August-beginning of Sept). Temperature approx 30 degrees celcius. Private pool was such a treat! It was cleaned and maintained every single morning. The villa is very comfortable with airco's in each room. Some reviewers mention that the villa is perhaps very slightly dated. I think I get what is meant, but really, we did not consider this as a con and hardly noticed it. |Roof terrace with table and 2 seats. Well equipped bathroom downstairs and a toilet with sink ensuite upstairs. Kitchen well equipped. No dishwasher but that did not bother us at all. Washing machine is available on the premises and may be used for free. What a service!! Cleaning of the whole villa by the lovely helpful household staff every 3rd day, change of towels every 2nd day and emptying of bins every day. We only had to do the dishes by ourselves, all the rest was taken care of. The "Park" is so very peaceful and quiet and beautifully maintained with gardens and flowers. The pool at the park is very clean and has a magnificent view onto the sea. As the park is not very big, it was always calm and we were often the only ones there. Parasols and plenty of sunbeds available as well as comfortable seating areas. The snackbar near the pool serves smoothies, snacks, ice cream, drinks, salads and pizza at very reasonable prices. Additionally a small private beach (pebbles) is included in the park. Again: we were often the only ones there. At the other side of the "peninsula" you find Gerakas beach, in walking distance. It turned out to be our favorite beach of Zakynthos as it is clean, stretched, pebbles and / or sand and peaceful. No boats or noise is allowed as it is a "turtle beach" (we did not see turtles there as such, but the turtles lay their eggs and the nests are protected). The park is situated at the end of the south east peninsula which is quite a drive to Argassi (approx 20minutes). BUT, we enjoyed the views so much that we found it a treat (a car with automatic transmission is recommended due to the large number of bends!).|Plenty of beaches to explore nearby, lovely restaurants available close to the park as well as mini-markets.|The manager of the Periyali Villas park is Emily. The service she provided during the holidays were more than excellent: we apped her quite a few times and she always responded within no time. EVERYTHING was taken care off by Emily and the household staff. We cannot find any faults, we simply had such a fantastic holiday thanks to Periyali Villa park and the wonderful staff. I goes without saying that we fully recommend the Periyali Villas and we look forward to coming back...

This was our second year at Periyali and we can't wait to go back again. For us it is the perfect family holiday, we loved the concept of having a private two bed villa with pool and small garden but in a resort -the space of the villa means once the kids are down you can have time with your partner to enjoy the evening rather than having to be in a hotel room! We chose the 4 morning childcare sessions at 3 and a half hours each, these were brilliant as the kids came home for lunch one went down for a nap and the other dipped in and out of the pool and the shade in the mid day heat, then around 4pm we would go down to Gerkas beach (less than a 10min walk away, or under a minute in the car with free parking) for sandcastles, swims in the shallow waters and then back up to the turtle beach bar for smoothies before heading home. This beach is just stunning, an unspoilt crescent of soft sand and a protected marine park as turtles crawl up the beach at night to lay eggs, if you go down in the morning you can see the tracks, our boys went nuts for this. The children adored their Turtle club and the staff were brilliant, Melanie, Otto and Shannon are still talked about at home, they created different experiences every day and it allowed my husband and I some precious time together to explore the little cove below the pool and snorkel and also just some time to actually read a book and sip an Aperol! The main pool is lovely, with sea views and a very friendly little pool bar serving an array of drinks and lovely food, everything we had from the menu was delicious The cleaning staff were a delight and walking into a freshly cleaned villa every day with a mid week linen change makes it like a hotel but so much nicer as you have so much private space. Simpsons think of everything from the greeting team at the airport to the best pick up and drop off of any holiday car rental I know to boxes of toys in your villa, draws of kids cutlery a beach umbrella - the list is endless, just pack your swimmers basically! Phillipa the resort rep is on hand day and night, so lovely and helpful and full of local knowledge, just a delight. We literally can't wait...

Just back from a wonderful weeks holiday at Periyali villas. From the welcome at the airport by Melanie and Anna the holiday was seamless. We even managed to actually relax, which with three children under six is no mean feat! ||Standout Details included your hire car being brought to you, well thought out welcome hampers at the villa, sharp objects being placed in high cupboards, EVERYTHING you could need for littles while on holiday. ||Philippa and her team at Periyali have thought of everything and have it covered. ||The villa was stunning, freshly decorated, simple, clean and most importantly cool in the 30+ degree heat. Our personal gated pool was the highlight for our smalls and where we spent most afternoons. Dipping into the shared pool every now and then as well as the beautiful private cove. The childcare staff were great and our eldest two loved the pizza party and still talk about the friends they met. The beaches and restaurants locally were exactly what we needed with shallow water and playareas in the restaurants. We visited Triodi and Nikos BEach Bar multiple times working through their menus! Plaka beach was a good find too for a small family friendly beach with facilities. ||We would recommend Periyali to all our friends with young children. The villas are top notch, simple, clean and with everything you could need. Every staff member we came across was welcoming, helpful and friendly.
