Hotel Fonda Del Sol — Hotel in Panajachel

We stayed two nights because we needed to rest and this was a good place. I went to Panajachel as a last minute to bird watch because my daughter wanted to see the Quetzal. We had no idea where to stay in Panajachel. I found this hotel and before I paid for the room Diego (I believe he is the owner) went above and beyond to find us a bird watch guide. Diego is a very kind person. I am so thankful that I was able to find this hotel. Breakfast is also i included which is a plus. We were so happy because we were able to see the Quetzal....

I was on a medical volunteer trip with 20 others and we stayed here on our way up into the Highlands. Basic rooms, safe place, friendly staff. Adorable Boxer dog on site that loves people to play with her. Bath towels were a little scratchy so if you have your own travel towel bring it. Coffee and cookies were available in the lobby every morning (leave some money as a courtesy). Always fresh filtered water available to fill your water bottles in the lobby.
