I stayed in this hotel for three weeks and it had everything I needed: a kitchen, private bath, separate bedroom with a comfortable double bed, a place to work online and ventilation. The room I rented met all those needs. I was extremely comfortable while I was there. The hotel has two swimming pools, plenty of parking. and a perfect location near the Santiago dock and 5 blocks downhill from the market. Tuk tuks come by frequently. Shopping is important to me as I do not like to eat out. There is first class Joes Smokehouse just a few steps away selling cheeses, the best coffee, a really great ginger tea, chicken, fish, meat, all excellent. A larger dry and frozen goods grocery store is three long blocks further down form the smokehouse. The main vegetable market is 5 blocks uphill from the hotel.||It all worked for me. Staff could not have been better or more welcoming. I have never seen more hard working, interested in their job person as is the day/night manager, Claudio. The same could be said for every other person on staff.||||The hotel is very neat and clean but lacks color and ambiance. The suicide showers have wires hanging out and should be more aesthetically as well as securely installed. Ownership interest appears missing. Having said all that: his is the best priced decent hotel in San...
Read moreYou get what you pay for. The price is right for the place, but I didn’t like staying there at all. Staff disappeared quite frequently, I got stopped once on my way in and asked if I had a reservation after I checked in and I never heard as much as a thank you from anyone there, including when I crossed paths with the manager on my way out with my bags. The pool was always quite busy and forget about the jacuzzi, no chance. But that’s how these things are. There are a couple of permanent residents l, they were friendly. I was put in a room that barely had any light and bathroom window was broken. It was always cold inside. In the room next to mine there was a guy who just had dirty dishes, laundry, empty plastic bottles, all stacked up outside his room and on top of a table.. that was quite disgusting and I doubt anyone told him anything. I woke up with people talking outside at 7am too. ||The place is clean, the price is right, all you see in the photos is true. But the vibe was terrible, one of the most depressing hotels I’ve ever stayed at, would recommend if you have company and...
Read moreWe booked two rooms through Kayak. It specified that it was dog friendly, and there were several pictures of dogs in the courtyard. Well, they don’t allow dogs. The owner was extremely rude about it. She made up a lie that it would be violating the sanitary code of San Pedro. Well, I lived here for a year and trust me, there aren’t sanitary codes. I then said that the dogs could just sleep in the back of my pickup and never enter the hotel. She scoffed at this as well. The only reason I’m giving it 2 stars is because her employee, an Italian guy, was very nice and helped us find...
