Hostel Black Dog — Hotel in Budapest

We stayed at black dog hostel during our visit in Budapest. We ordered two beds in an 6 people dorm, and we were very dissapointed. First of all the facilities were horrible. The toilet was not clean, and they did not change toiletpaper or towels. The sink did’nt work either. The shower was dirty as well. The beds felt a little uncumfortable, because the mattresses were very thin. There were no plugs near the beds, so you had to charge your phone or other devises on the floor were they put an extention court with a small amount of plugs. At some point, this is what to expect at a hostel this cheap, but the employees were also annoying and had a lack of respect… First of all they slept on the couch in our room, and listened to music, did laundry and talked about blowjobs and womens breasts while we were in the room trying to relax. At one point, one of the staff members placed a small paper-hat on his head and made a really offensive stereotipical impression of an Asian person. Nobody found it funny… some other guests forgot their sunglasses in the room, and when they had left, one of the employees placed them on his eyes and said they were cheap but not like crap from the streets. Then he gave them to one of the other employees and asked him if he wanted them, which is very unprofessional, as the guests might have wanted the sunglasses back obviously. ||||If you are considering staying at Black Dog. Dont. You can get WAY better and cheaper options in Budapest with the same location :))...

Si bien es cierto que nos permitieron dejar nuestro equipaje en el hostel antes de la hora del check-in sin ningún tipo de problema, el resto de la estancia (de una noche cuando en un principio se trataba de tres) fue de lo peor. Para empezar, y probablemente lo menos grave de todo fue que no se cumplió la reserva por la que habíamos pagado. Eramos un grupo de ocho amigos que estabamos de Interrail en Budapest un total de tres noches. En la reserva, la cual conservamos por si se requiriese prueba material, aparece una reserva de ocho camas en una habitación de ocho compartida pues la gracia de nuestra reserva residía en poder dormir los ocho juntos. La habitación asignada era de diez camas, de las cuales dos ya estaban ocupadas a nuestra llegada. Los problemas aparecen cuando nos disponemos a ir al baño o a dormir. Cuchillas de afeitar usadas y llenas de pelo en el suelo de la ducha, una compresa usada bajo la cama, unas sábanas cuya limpieza es un asunto más que cuestionable... Entendemos que se trata de un hostel de habitaciones y baño compartido pero existen unos límites que han de ser controlados por la dirección. Cuando la cosa parecía no poder ir a mejor, nos damos cuenta de que a parte de los otros dos huéspedes que duermen con nosotros, tenemos la maravillosa compañía de hasta cuatro cucarachas que merodean debajo de las camas y entre nuestras maletas y ropa. Inmediatamente buscamos un alojamiento alternativo para las dos noches restantes y al día siguiente nos trasladamos. Cuando vinimos a recoger nuestro equipaje al hostel, comentamos la pintoresca situación a la misma persona que nos recibió el día antes y pedimos una explicación y un reembolso de al menos un 50% del importe total. Lejos de ofrecer solución alguna o mostrar el más mínimo signo de sorpresa, dijo no ser la propietaria y que no podía hacer nada. Con las mismas nos fuimos, con la mayor decepción de todo el viaje y prácticamente un día perdido de tres que teníamos para la ciudad...

This place was the worst hostel experience I’ve had so far as an experienced traveler and I can only write that review to warn you all. I found bed bugs after 5 mins of being there in the toilet laundry basket. After reading many reviews on booking this problem seems to have been unresolved for months/years at that place! I cancelled my stay there and the volunteer working there assured me I will get my full money. However I only got a half of it, I booked a stay for two people for two nights. Now I have to fight booking solve my case because I have no help from that place. We needed to find a hostel asap after we discovered situation...
