Ister Guesthouse — Hotel in Esztergomi járás

We stayed at Ister Guesthouse for one month with two adults and two small children. We traveled from the US. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Tunde and Joszi—the house was fully equipped with everything we needed for a great stay—including toys for the children!

The house is clean, beautifully decorated and comfortable for multiple people. The location is as good as it gets in Esztergom—you can walk to every place including the beautiful Basilica.

Tunde left a wonderful list of attractions and restaurant recommendations as well. The wifi is great and fast—I worked every evening with no technical problems. The courtyard space was one of our favorite amenities. It is private and a great place for the kids to play or to enjoy your morning coffee. The apartment is big enough that the children could sleep soundly while we stayed awake visiting with friends.

Esztergom is a beautiful city, and Ister Guesthouse is the best place to stay. We can’t wait to book our stay for next year!

Lovely stay for 2 nights under the beatiful basilica in the center of the city. Communication with the owner was perfect and during the welcome procedure, the cold ice melon was waiting for us, which we much welcomed after whole day traveling in a sunny day. Guesthouse is overall very clean and cosily with a pleasant owner, who answered all our questions and guided us through the city and its sightseeings together with delicious restaurants. Parking slot was for free cca 2 min from the Guesthouse, so the traveling outside of the city was quite easy, when the person wanted. Very quiet environment, although it's pretty recommended for kids :-). You also don't have to be worried about the night life, because during our stay, the city was quite alive with a lot of opportunities, where to go. A very fancy, friendly apartman. It is located directly at the bottom of the castle-hill in the historical city so if you look up from the stylish yard, you can see the castle and the basilica. Cozy and has everything you need. Outstanding price/value with extras. Museums and traditional restaurants are next to it. Everything is within walk-distance, however car is needed if you travel as Esztergom is ill provided with taxis and public transport.
