The receptionist did nothing. ||Later the same guy tried twice to break into the shower while people from our group were inside, despite being warned, because there was no lock. Thankfully it was the men in our party who were in both times, not the women, as he was clearly trying to get a look at them (we stationed people outside to stop him, he still tried). ||When we told the receptionist she did nothing, just saying that the group had been there for a week being really noisy. We left soon after. No refund given because - even though we paid in cash - the refund has to come through the app we booked on.||If a hostel doesn’t care about the safety and security of its guests it shouldn’t be allowed to operate. A Kaleidoszkóp Ház Esztergomban egészen egyedülálló kulturális tér, amely messze túlmutat egy hagyományos kiállítóhelyen. Egyfajta kreatív központként működik, ahol a művészet, az alternatív gondolkodás, a közösségépítés és az élményalapú megközelítés találkozik. Aki egyszer ellátogat ide, szinte biztos, hogy nemcsak látogatóként, hanem aktív résztvevőként távozik – legyen szó egy rendhagyó tárlatvezetésről, koncertélményről vagy épp egy performatív eseményről.

Személyesen is volt alkalmam részt venni egy fellépésen az épület lenyűgöző barlangterében, ami a Ház egyik különlegessége. A természetes kőfalak között kialakított tér egyszerre nyers és meghitt, tökéletes akusztikai adottságokkal rendelkezik, és igazán különleges atmoszférát teremt mind előadóknak, mind a közönségnek. Ritka az ilyen helyszín Magyarországon.

A Ház működését és hangulatát azonban nemcsak az épített környezet teszi emlékezetessé, hanem az itt dolgozó emberek is. Külön kiemelném Bajszos Pétert, az intézmény üzletvezetőjét, aki ritkán tapasztalható elhivatottsággal, rugalmassággal és segítőkészséggel végzi a munkáját. Nemcsak hogy minden részletre odafigyel, de valóban szívügyének tekinti, hogy az ide látogatók – akár közönségként, akár alkotóként – maximális támogatást és élményt kapjanak. Az ilyen hozzáállás nagyban hozzájárul ahhoz, hogy a Kaleidoszkóp Ház ne csupán egy látványosság, hanem valódi közösségi és művészeti tér legyen.
