Óðinn Reykjavík — Hotel in Reykjavik

I highly recommend Óðinn Reykjavík for their Mini-Bus Tours. The mini bus tour was very personal and the driver made us feel at home with drinks and snacks at our stops during our journey to hunt the Northern Lights. At the first place she stopped, she realized that it was not the best place to see the Northern Lights so she continued further into the emptiness of the night. At the second stop we got to see the Northern Lights! I believe it was in some national park. We spent about an hour and a half photographing the lights and making new friends. This is nearly impossible to do if you were to take a big bus with 68 people that parks next to a million other busses. The mini buss experience allows you to meet new friends from all around the world and make amazing memories. There were no other busses or people in site. There was even a CLEAN little bathroom there for us to use! Our guide even offered to take pictures for people that did not have the proper photography equipment to capture the lights at their fullest. They were emailed to us the very next morning. After seeing the lights our driver drove us to a secret spot to see a magnificent clear river on a really cool bridge. Be prepared to guess how deep the river goes! Everybody left the tour with a very big smile on their faces! Next time I am in Iceland I will definitely be booking another tour with Óðinn! Great location, walkable from bus stop 6 and 8, able to keep warm during 2024 December Winter.

Stayed in the bigger apartment at ground floor (good for 8 pax) without needing to carry luggage up the building without lift.

The toilet sewage smells nasty (constantly emitting shit smell), very tiny shower area, malfunctioning microwave, terrible wifi connection throughout my stay, electric kettle is old with some rust ring at the bottom, no extra towel for long stays, electric stove is faulty and may cause power trip (the main breaker is located near the main door) .. in general, the property is relatively old and lack of maintenance (tv, washing machine, dryer, dishwasher and heaters are working well).

We booked Luxury apartment and it was comfortable for 7 adults. Apartment was clean and well equipped.

We had some problems checking due to some misunderstanding with a couple. For some reason, they had our apartment keys from the key box but they knew they were at the wrong place because their booking was for 2 pax only. We had to call booking and luckily after some drama, it was sorted out and we got our keys.

There's no lift going up they stairs so be prepared to carry your luggages up the stairs.

Location is very nice. We just walked everywhere we wanted to go in Reykjavík. Even walked from the BSI Terminal where Flybus dropped us. It was about 20mins walk with luggage. Not too bad in nice...
