We stayed 3 nights on the top floor which had a double and a single. The views from the apartment were amazing. You had your own personal balcony that you could walk out on. The view shows the Hallgrímskirkja church at the end of the street. The apartment is close to many shops and restaurants. The apartment does not have an elevator which may be a problem for some. You have to pay for parking between 9-6p. Plan on that if you need to come back to the apartment otherwise it is free. The apartment itself was comfy. The beds and linens were super comfortable. There were 2 down sides for us that affected the review. The 1st is the shower which has a strong sulfur smell during use. I contacted the owner and was told this was normal. The other was the street noise. Not the fault of the owner, but can make it hard to sleep. We tried sleeping with the windows open because the apartment was to hot and that was the most difficult. When we closed the windows, the sound was better, but was quite warm. The shades for the apartment don’t do a great job of blocking the outside light during the summer. We found there to be street noise until we’ll into the 4a hour. This may be a consideration if you are a light sleeper. The location is great and is a short walk to some of the famous sights...
Read moreThis is a convenient location, close to the famous church and to the downtown streets especially Laugavegur. The apartment was clean, fairly quiet, and a great way to start getting over the jetlag. There are nice restaurants and cafes nearby though check the open times especially on weekends. ||||Be mindful of the white nights during the summer, some light will get through the curtains. There is no elevator so you have to haul the luggage yourself using a narrow twisting stairwell. One disappointment - our apartment had three single beds (two pulled together and a separate one) and a sofa but the sofa was a conventional couch. The booking site listed it as sufficient for 3 adults and 1 child but the child had to sleep on literal couch cushions. On the Sunday midday that we checked in all the parking spots in the area were occupied. We had to drive to a garage on Hverfisgata and then go up some 3 mostly uphill blocks.||||Overall a...
Read moreGreat apartment, central location, good value for money. We stayed in #201 and it was a lot larger than we were expecting! We had very comfy beds and a large lounge/dining room with separate kitchen. The apartment was very clean and well equipped, we cooked a few times and had everything we needed. The shower had good pressure and reliable hot water. The radiators kept the apartment warm in the minus temperatures! Check in and out was very easy and there was somewhere to store luggage after check out if you had a later flight and didn’t want to drag it around the city! ||There are only a couple of minor issues that didn’t really bother me and my friend but others may need to be aware of: |- there is no lift and the stairs are narrow and curved so this can be an issue when carrying up luggage|- there is a fair bit of road noise and people exiting bars and being noisy at night ||We had a fabulous stay and highly recommend...
