We recently had the pleasure of dining at Parika, a cozy Mangalorean restaurant that serves authentic, mouth-watering dishes. Our meal was a culinary journey through the flavors of Mangalore, with each dish expertly prepared to showcase the region's unique spices and ingredients.
We began our meal with an array of delicious starters and main course, including the Silver Fish Rava Fry, Chicken Sukka, Kane Tawa Fry, Anjal Rava Fry, and Marwai Sukka. Each dish was a masterclass in balancing flavors, with the perfect blend of spices, herbs, and tanginess. The Silver Fish Rava Fry was a particular standout, with its crispy exterior giving way to tender, flavorful fish.
To accompany our main dishes, we ordered a selection of carbs, including Neer Dosas, Sannas, and Pundi. Each was perfectly cooked, with the Neer Dosas being particularly impressive – delicate, lacy, and utterly delicious. We also had the Kokum Kadhi, a refreshing yogurt-based side dish that helped to cut the richness of the meal.
If I have one criticism, it's that the service was a bit slow. However, the friendly staff and delicious food more than made up for it.
In short, Parika is a must-visit for anyone looking to experience authentic...
Read moreWe have been to Parika Coastal village in shakar nagar on 17-Mar-2024 which has good ambience and hospitality.
We have ordered Crab soup, Pomfret masala fry, neer dosa and Mangalorean mutton masala.
Crab soup was tasted decent and quantity was good.
Pomfret masala fry was filled with masala which tasted very raw masala smell and didnt had any taste (salt and spice) so i have returned and asked for tawa fry which is ok in taste but felt like food colour was used but not sure if masala was made from kashmiri chilli.
Mangalorean mutton masala also tasted so blunt and mutton pieces were so hard.
5 Neer dosa for was given for plate which is veryyyy small and not served as hot also.
Overall taste of food is average and as i have been to other mangalore style restaurants which also has colourful masala but salt and spice is proper and usually mangalore dishes are prepared from grinded masala which should be properly cooked but here i felt food colour is used and masala is not properly cooked.
Am not sure if mangalore or karnataka people might like the taste.
For 2 person approx 1500-1700 felt little pricy for average...

I was really excited to try out The Seafood but unfortunately they don't have Crab and kingfish , my experience was a huge letdown. First off, the service was extremely slow—our waiter seemed disinterested and it took half an hour to get our drinks when the restaurant was not busy only one table was there . We were hoping for a fresh, coastal meal, but the seafood ( Prawns and mackerel) we ordered was bland and tasted like it had been frozen for way too long.
The ambiance was ok, but the restaurant itself felt run-down they don't switch on the Ac as well when we told two three times to turn the Ac on then they switch on the AC and after half an hour they turn off again . The main course we ordered they send the rice and the neer dosa First without the curry we ordered ( Mutton pepper Masala and chicken patiala) . After 15 minutes they send the curry .
Overall, it was a huge disappointment, and I won’t be returning. There are far better coastal restaurants in the area that actually deliver on...
