During my visit to Dharamshala, I decided to extend my stay by two days in the picturesque area of McLeodganj. After browsing through various options on Make My Trip, I settled on a property that was highly rated for its proximity to the main square. I’d like to share my thoughts in a pros and cons format to help fellow travelers make an informed decision about this place, as I had a pleasant experience during my stay.
Pros: Prime Location: The hotel is situated just a stone's throw from the bustling main square, making it incredibly convenient for exploring local shops, cafes, and attractions. I've attached videos showcasing the vibrant surroundings. Modern Lift: The property features a fairly new elevator, which adds accessibility for guests, especially those with heavy luggage or mobility concerns. Newly Furnished Rooms: Each room is tastefully decorated and equipped with brand-new furniture, creating a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. Spacious Family Room: For larger groups or families, there is a generous family room that accommodates two beds, providing ample space for everyone. Private Balconies: Many rooms come with personal balconies, allowing guests to enjoy the fresh mountain air and stunning views. Washrooms with Geysers: Each bathroom is equipped with a geyser, ensuring hot water is readily available, which is especially appreciated in cooler weather. On-Site Restaurant: The attached restaurant, Tens Cafe, offers a variety of delicious meals, serving both local and international cuisine. Large Smart TV: Each room features a big smart TV, perfect for entertainment during downtime. Reasonably Priced Cafe Food: I found the menu at the cafe to offer a diverse selection of tasty dishes at reasonable prices, which was a pleasant surprise.
Cons: Average Cleanliness: While not terrible, the cleanliness of the property could use some improvement to meet higher standards. Staff Professionalism: The staff seemed somewhat unprofessional; they didn’t wear uniforms, and their demeanor could benefit from more training and consistency. Slow Service at the Cafe: Though the cafe was capable of taking orders, the delivery time was quite lengthy, often taking 50 to 60 minutes. No On-Site Parking: The hotel lacks dedicated parking facilities; guests must park their vehicles about 300 meters away, which can be inconvenient, especially with luggage. Luggage Assistance Issues: When we requested two helpers to manage our luggage to and from the parking area, only one was sent, leaving us to carry half our luggage back on our own, which was frustrating. Pest Issues: I did notice a few small insects in the room, which detracted from the overall experience. Pricey for What’s Offered: At 11000₹ for two nights, I felt the price was quite high, particularly considering it did not include any meals or additional amenities.
Overall, while there were a few drawbacks during my stay, the positives—especially the location and modern amenities—made for an enjoyable experience...

Upon reaching the hotel, I learned that the room that I had paid through their own website was not available. However, the manager "upgraded" me to another room. The room was spacious and clean but it had a drainage pipe inside. Whenever the user of the adjacent room used their wash basin (or toilet, I am not aware), the gurgling sound kept disturbing my sleep. Poor Wi-Fi, weak geyser, no intercom, no in-house restaurant. We did not even get tea. We had to step outside and find food. Fortunately, there are many restaurants outside this hotel. Since the room that I was "upgraded" to was in this condition; I cannot imagine the room that I had actually booked which was smaller than this.
Manager, Mr. Pandit Rakesh is the only silver lining in this situation. He is polite, courteous, professional and cooperative, and was running around and doing as much as he could to ensure that the place ran smoothly.
The other staff members are also humble, but they need more hospitality training and the staff number needs to be increased to cater to the requirements of the guests.
I feel I should have stayed in Dharamkot and come down to McLeodganj for sightseeing.
I trust the management of this hotel values this feedback and sincerely work on the areas of improvement...

I got a great deal through Agoda - extra large room, hot shower and large balcony to relax on and read in the afternoon sun. My stay was for 3 nights in February 2024 and the property provided a thick quilt and warm blanket perfect for the cold nights. Whilst it is an independant stay (no official reception room) the owner and staff were all very friendly and helpful in extending my booking for an 8PM paid check out and organising a taxi to Dharamsala.
As others have mentioned, building complex is currently under construction but it doesn't affect the stay if you're out most the day (I was unwell and in the room during the day - but otherwise wouldn't cause issues as workers finish before evening).
Only 'negative' point is as the bathroom wall to the bedroom is glass, causing light from the hallway to shine through if lights are left on. I notice staff would turn the hallway lights off at night, but other guests wouldn't do the same.
Great value for money, very...
