Hotel Soorya International — Hotel in Puducherry

I wanted to give zero ratings. Infact their license should get cancelled for running business out of people’s deperation. The experience I had at this hotel will remain etched in my memory.

My stay at this hotel was an absolute nightmare. I paid 4000 for a night during peak season, but the experience was shockingly poor. We were assigned a room with broken windows that let rainwater pour in. When we ordered food, we were locked out of our room, with no response from the reception despite numerous phone calls. The delivery boy had to search for staff, and eventually, the food was thrown onto our balcony because the door remained locked. After an hour of desperate attempts to get help, someone finally arrived and forcibly opened the jammed door. We were then relocated to another room that was in a deplorable state—filthy, with beer bottles strewn about on the balcony. Given the late hour, we had no option but to endure the appalling conditions for the night. This hotel's service is abysmal and exploitative, taking advantage of guests' helplessness. The five star is to show how worst the hotel is. I can't imagine to rate it. it is the worst hotel I ever saw. I'm a traveller i travel alot we asked for an auto man to guide us to a hotel he suggested that hotel since he gets commission. The rates were too high than it was. We was tired so in order to get we registered the room but after they showed it we were not satisfied because it was worst, they tried showing us different rooms but nothing was good so we went back stating it is bad they asked Rs.500 as cancellation even though there was no bill given or no registration norms instructed and even we paid in cash... Just to share a sweet story here. I was looking for Surya hotel pondicherry and then came across your hotel and pics. Because I remember staying at your hotel in the year 1999-2000 when I went on a family winter vacation in Tamil Nadu. It was almost new year (millennium) and we couldn't find a stay in pondicherry because almost everything was booked. That's when we came across Surya international. It was one of the most glamorous hotel in those days in pondicherry and the balcony view used to be stunning. I remember spending long hours in the balcony with my mum. I was around 9 years old then.
