Hotel Kapoor — Hotel in Uttarakhand

I initially booked the Kapoor hotel for 4 nights. Located near Upper Road, the hotel offers access to pretty much all of the town. Apart from the Ganghes there is not much too see.||||The rooms smelled a bit musty, the sheets had seen better days, and overall the room was not very clean. Given that the hotel is a budget hotel, this is acceptable. However, there was no hot water. When I informed the staff they switched a button, and the boiler in my room started to heat up. This took a long time, and before the water was warm the staff had turned it off again. I was tired of asking, so I took a cold shower instead. The staff is rather nice and helpful.||||Ended up staying there for two nights, nothing much to see in Haridwar. Very dirty town, if you are a tourist I suggest to only go there to see the evening ritual. I booked on a booking website, but the staff told me that the rooms are 1500...

Pros: Looks beautiful from the front. Located near Ramlila Ground. Cars are not allowed in most lanes of the Haridwar market area, however this hotel is accessible through cars. Nearby Haridwar main market and Ganges Riverside. Peaceful locality. Some of the hotel boys and receptionists are polite. Cons: Rooms are old fashioned and small Bathrooms are poorly maintained. Geyser does not work in some rooms. Cleanliness is a serious issue. Blankets, towels and even bedsheets are not at all properly cleaned. There are television sets in the hotel rooms but no paid channels are included.
