One of the most important aspects while planning for a wedding would be the guest hospitality. Quite naturally it keeps lingering in our minds throughout the entire occasion as we host guests from various quarters, much ahead of the actual D Day and sometimes all the way post-wedding too. Too many factors need to be right - the accommodation, the food, the proximity to the wedding hall and most importantly the warmth and cordiality to make them feel at home. Venkey’s got all of this right!

Venkey’s served as the perfect resting den for all our marriage guests. We had a battalion of people and we had booked almost the entire place for over 3 days to suit their different preferences but allaying all our fears aside, they were unanimous in their appreciation of the place and facilities. Pleasing so many people with different sensibilities is not an easy task but they managed it pretty effectively.

The apartment comes with spacious bedrooms and a fairly well set lobby with good breakfast and optimal food options (if you wished to dine inside). The staff were gentle and welcoming and adhere to all room services etiquettes. The best thing about the place is its location - right in the midst of one of the most arterial roads of the city and is best suited for guests who would prefer to move around the city and relish their time during their stay. Apart from the fact that it is accessible from most of the big marriage halls and star hotels in the center of the city, proximity to some great restaurants, malls, cinemas, beach and shopping hubs is a big plus. Review of My Stay – Room 302 (March 2025)

I stayed here for three and a half days, and my experience was disappointing. I was misled by outdated photos on Google Maps (6 years old) and a recent positive review (2 months ago), which made me believe this place was decent. However, reality was far from it.

Negatives:

❌ Outdated & Misleading Information – The Google Maps photos were 6 years old, and a recent positive review gave a false impression. The actual condition was much worse. ❌ No Food Service – There were no food options available, which was inconvenient. ❌ Unhygienic Entrance & Common Areas – The entrance had a horrible smell (like a dead rat), and the common room also smelled bad .. no room freshners too .... ❌ AC & Fan Issues – The room never felt air-conditioned, even with the AC running at 17°C for 2.5 days straight. The fan's breeze only covered the leg area, making it uncomfortable. ❌ Restricted Amenities – On my last day, I asked for tea/coffee on the 4th floor, but they refused, saying it was for company use only. ❌ Unhygienic Tea shop downstairs – was extremely unhygienic, and I observed this throughout my stay. ❌ Poor Sleep Quality – The bed was hard, made noises, and had damaged springs, making it difficult to sleep peacefully. ❌ Extremely Weak WiFi – The internet speed was in kbps, making even Instagram and WhatsApp images impossible to load.

Final Verdict:

💰 A complete waste of money unless it’s just for a single night’s stay. If you’re looking for comfort, hygiene, or even basic services like food, avoid this place. The misleading online images and recent positive reviews make it even more...

We shouldn't call this as service apartment - THIS IS AN EXTENDED FAMILY STAY - "HOME AWAY HOME" Mrs. Valsala & Mr. Venkat owners of this place are extremely caring, loving & so supportive, very humble and down to earth. We stayed here for nearly two months and we never felt we are staying away from home. The level of attachment and bonding they created towards us were extremely amazing rather we felt like we are leaving our family when we had to vacate. Being in the prime place in Chennai the reach to most happening places are very easy. Absolutely there is no problem for food, we get Homemade food made by the owner Mrs. Valsala which is extremely tasty and healthy. We had homemade breakfast, lunch and dinner all throughout our stay which was extremely tasty and healthy each and every day. Kids loved the food very much. So next time when you are in Chennai and looking for a place to stay " THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU".
