Worst Service and Mismanagement – Disappointed Twice

I’ve had the worst experience with this restaurant — not once, but twice.

First Visit: I had booked a table via Swiggy Dineout (₹25/person) and arrived before the reserved time. Despite that, I waited over an hour with no progress. The staff was completely disorganized — ignoring both online reservations and a first-come-first-serve approach. Eventually, I gave up and left for another restaurant.

Second Visit (Today): I decided to give them another chance — big mistake. I informed the reception upon arrival and noticed only two customers ahead of me. To avoid confusion, I also booked through Swiggy again while waiting. The first group was seated after 10 minutes, but then chaos followed. The second group started arguing with the staff for not following any sequence. Shockingly, a new group that had just walked in was given a table before us.

When I asked the staff about the seating logic — whether it was based on bookings or arrival — they had no answer. No explanation, no apology, just indifference. After waiting pointlessly for 15+ minutes, I walked out once again, realizing nothing has changed.

Conclusion: This place has zero respect for customers’ time. Their management is clueless, the staff lacks basic communication skills, and their booking system is a joke. Would not...

Visited the newly opened Tamizh Koodam Mess in Mylapore today and it was an absolute treat for non-veg lovers like me. Their Non Veg Meals is truly value for money – it comes with unlimited Chicken & Prawn Thokku, tasty Chicken 65, spicy Chicken Chukka, a big piece of Fish Fry, Payasam, and Curd along with the regular three gravies – Mutton, Chicken, and Fish. If you’re lucky, you might get pieces in the gravies too – we did, and it felt like a bonus!

We also ordered an extra Nei Mutton Fry which was flavourful and went well with the meals. Valet parking is available, making it hassle-free to visit even on busy days.

The only downside was the Swiggy discount issue. Although the app showed 10% off on the total bill, the restaurant said it was not applicable for meals and gave the discount only for the Nei Mutton Fry we ordered separately.

Overall, it was a hearty and fulfilling lunch. Definitely planning to visit again with family to explore their other specials. If you’re in Mylapore, this mess is worth trying for authentic Tamizh non-veg meals at a reasonable price.

They also arrange for Corporate Booking, Contact Ms. Saraswathi Raj, I'll attach her...

🌿 Tamil Koodam Mess – Authentic Kongu Treat! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Visited Tamil Koodam Mess with my team, and it was a total delight for anyone who loves traditional Tamil meals.

I had the Mutton and Chicken Meals – both were rich, perfectly spiced, and served hot. The highlight for me was the Nalli Kari and Coconut Mutton Sukka – absolutely mouthwatering! The flavours were deep and traditional, with tender cuts of meat and a rustic, homely touch.

My vegetarian teammates were equally impressed. They tried the Murungai Mochai Kulambu and Kongu Kalan Milagu Perattal – both were packed with authentic Kongu-style flavours. The use of native spices and fresh ingredients really stood out.

We ended our meal with Nungu Sarbath, a refreshing and perfect way to cool down after the spicy dishes.

📌 Service was prompt, ambience was simple yet clean, and the food felt like a soulful home-cooked meal. Highly recommended for lovers of authentic...

I had the Non-Veg meals at Tamil Koodam Mess and the food was simply excellent. Every gravy and every item in the menu was absolutely top-notch well-balanced flavors, authentic taste, and generous portions. The Chettinad touch in each dish really stood out and made the whole meal satisfying. The Chicken Chukka deserves a special mention – perfectly cooked, tasty, and an absolute delight. Overall, I really enjoyed the meals. Only a couple of small suggestions: Instead of Prawn Thokku, adding Kola Urandai would make the spread more complete since fish and fish gravy are already included.Kola Urandai would be a great addition to balance the spread and complete the non-veg meals experience. Also, the fish served is not unlimited – it would be good if this is clearly mentioned in the menu to avoid confusion. Overall, highly recommended for anyone looking for a wholesome and traditional South Indian non-veg meal.

We visited this place after seeing Instagram reels.Totally disappointed by the service.Ordered bun parotta,Madurai salna, curd rice ,molesa and idli.Molesa is not worth the hype.for parotta n idli v had to order a separate curry since they don’t provide even a chutney or common curry for it so v got Madurai salna gravy which was too salty. When v asked for something to dip for idli despite us telling it was salty, they didn’t provide us anything and they left.Worst customer service.U only have Tamil in ur restaurant name and in menu cards, but doesn’t follow Tamil culture. This one star rating is only for valet parking.I heard this is owned by the same owner as living room,I hope he sees this review.
