Comodo hotel is really nice, very clean and the staff is mostly friendly. Depending on the room you chose you might get a very tiny bathroom. In ours the hose had troubles working. I recommend checking the rooms first and not take a room without looking at it ;) The breakfast is really basic and was one French toast and some pieces of watermelon. Nothing that will keep you going through the day though. The location is quite nice with a view over the bay, when you chose the right room. Otherwise you can walk from the airport to the hostel easily. To get into the city you have to walk all the way down the hill along the road or take at night the dinner shuttle from the hotel. If you rent scooters chose one with lots of power, otherwise you won't get up the hill. There is also a shortcut down and up by using the tsunami evacuation road, which leads through a very rural area. People there are very nice. We only gave it 3 stars because: it was really a pain that there was only one English-speaking person, which was almost never there. It was difficult with the young girls there to get across what we wanted and ended up them thinking that we wanted to check out already which wasn't the case. wifi was not working, only in the area in front of the office. there is a lot of Staff sitting around the office area all day long, just playing with their phones. A lot of the young lads, which were not very friendly. It left us with a feeling of being watched. we were recommend a daytour with fellow travelers with wrong informations and guides that didn't speak English. For example they dropped us of in the middle of the ocean for snorkeling without us having snorkeling equipment. the rooms were really clean, and they cleaned it on the second day directly again, but then for the rest of the...
Read moreI stayed at CF Komodo hotel in Labuan Bajo Flores Indonesia July7-9 prior to a scheduled 4 day liveaboard diving trip. On July 8th I lost my I-phone while motorbiking to the Cunca Walang waterfall 35 km away from the hotel. A kind hearted driver and passenger- Harris found it in the middle of the road and noticed in the calendar that I had a booking at CF Komodo hotel. Harris called the hotel and spoke with Veronica the owner. The staff went to work contacting all guests to ask them if they had lost a phone. Eventually speaking to me. The next day I left for my 4 day diving trip in Komodo National park. Meanwhile Harris and Veronica worked at securing the return of my phone. Harris lives in Ruteng. 100 km||away from the hotel. He works occasionally in Labuan Bajo. Upon my return back to the hotel, Veronica had my I-phone. No worse for wear in perfect working condition. Wow!! I am so fortunate and grateful for everyone's help and the diligence of the staff at CF Komodo. They really looked out for me after making a careless mistake. Eternally grateful!! All staff there are honest, loving, and work hard to help their guests. I observed them helping other guests as well....
Read moreOh guys, your hotel is not good :( Awful in fact. It's a $4-6 hotel but charging $20-30
You need to: Remodel the bathroom - an open drain, open roof is no good. So many bugs. The shower needs to be hot and to be head height. It is neither. The toilet doesn't even flush so we had to use cups of water. Come on now. Also if you don't want people putting toilet paper down the toilet then you need to provide a closed, swing top bin, because westerners use toilet paper. Train your staff - they don't even know where to get water. Provide refill water - Komodo is trying to go plastic free. Join in and provide guests water refills. WiFi - room WiFi is expected now. Get it and give your guests an easy password on arrival. Having WiFi in your office at the bottom of the hill is not good enough. There's a WiFi box outside the room, so you can provide it, perhaps your staff again need training.
Anywhere else I'd have demanded our money back. But I know Komodo is learning tourism so please...
