We were looking for seafood but many of the restaurants were packed. This restaurant overlooks the harbor, so a great view! It gets good reviews and had some seafood on the menu so we thought we would give it a try. There were a few other tables seated. We were welcomed in and promptly brought us ice cold beers. We tried to order the tuna but they were out, same with the squid. Guess they forgot there is a huge seafood market a few blocks away where they probably get their seafood. So we ordered the hibachi, cook at your table. One beef and one shrimp. Came with miso soup, which was good, 3 dipping sauce, rice and vegetables. The vegetables were very skimpy, a few carrots and onion rings, kombucha I believe a few pieces of lettuce and maybe a a few purple daikon slices. For protine, 4 shrimp on one order and 5 paper thin slices of extremely fatty beef. I’ll focus on the shrimp as the beef was not impressive at all. The first 4 shrimp we cooked were all mealy inedible, they apologized profusely and brought us 3 more. They were a tiny bit better but still pretty mushy. We eat shrimp that I cook often and as good as they looked, they should have been better. Didn’t have the ammonia smell of bad shellfish but they just weren’t right. The beef didn’t even look good it was so fatty and thin. A very underwhelming meal to say the least. Guess we should have...
Read moreDelicious! We came here multiple times during our stay because the beef tantanmen ramen was so incredible! I’m not a vegan but got the vegan ramen just to try and it was great too (roasted veggies instead of meat). The owner is such a kind person he gave us great recommendations for food and surprised us with an order of fantastic gyoza on our last night. The entire staff and truly kind and happy to help. I can also recommend the apple juice as they fresh press the apple juice and try the kyuri salad, I was really missing fresh veggies and this hit the spot!
Last but not least is the fantastic view of the city, come for sunset and enjoy a relaxing dinner...
Read moreA rare find here, a place with multiple vegan ramen options on the menu! After a day of travel and scrounging for options in the Bali airport, this was a welcome find and they did not disappoint. They had sparkling water (honestly rare here, a nice treat), vegan tantan (never had it outside of Japan!), and the tempura vegetables were excellent. My wife raved about the agedashi tofu, which smelled incredible. Worth the trek up the hill for the food, but the view overlooking the harbor as the sun set was the cherry on top. Definitely worth the little walk up from...
