When we first arrived here, it was not quite what we expected. Some work needs to be done but that’s the situation for every hotel in Labuan Bajo. That being said: the room was clean and cool. Would be nice if the windows in the room could be covered with mosquito nets.||The restaurant is great! Best chicken sate we had during our trip to Indonesia. All the dishes are really tasteful. We tried other places but this restaurant was by far our favourite. ||Konstatin, the host there, helped us out so much! He arranged a scooter rental for a good price and he could give us useful recommendations for restaurants. We also booked a two-day-one-night boat tour via him, which was great! It was quite cheap (about 1.3 mln for two persons, excl. entrance to the islands). Our captain was Captain Bek. He speaks quite a bit of English. Not only is he a captain, he is also a tour guide, a chef and a photographer. The meals on the boat were fresh and delicious: rice, fish, vegetables, egg and fruit with loads of drinking water on board. We visited islands, did hiking trails and went snorkeling. Captain Bek really made an effort to find the best spots for Manta watching, to spot turtles, and to make the best pictures for and with us. We really recommend staying at Pesona Restaurant and Room and book a tour with Captain Bek.||Best season to visit is right after rain season (we were there beginning of March) because the islands are green. Downside of our boat was the sleeping: we slept on the boat which was fine and comfortable if we would not have been next to a boat with AC: the other boat had a aggregate next to our room so we smelled a lot of petrol all night long. Fortunately we were there with only 7 boats instead of 70 during...

Read moreWe stayed one night before we went on a boat tour. There were three of us and booked a single room with two beds. Our flight was pushed up to arrive at 8am and check in was noon so we were worried about our baggage. We walked from the airport, just a 20 minute walk, and they were very accommodating. They allowed us to leave our bags and we stayed in the restaurant area to get lunch. It took a while for our food to arrive, but it was very delicious. We didn't expect much, we were very pleased. The grilled fish is awesome! While waiting, I happened to skim through reviews and noticed several negative reviews, so we became a little worried about our room. Everyone was very pleasant, especially the young woman T the front desk. She did her best to understand our English, always with a nice smile. Once our room was ready, she brought us down to settle in. This is a budget hotel, our expectations were low, and even lower after the reviews, but we were very pleasantly surprised. The room was nice, had everything we needed for a one night stay. It's a budget hotel but still very nice. The shower floor in our room is pebble, a bit uncomfortable for my bare feet, so I recommend shower slippers. Finally, the included breakfast was simple but tasty. I had banana pancakes, my wife had the nasi goreng, and our friend had the toast and eggs. All were tasty and enough to start our day!
Overall, we were very pleased with the service...
