We booked the two bedroom suite, Kusuma for three nights. The room and its features were beautiful. However, after out first night we noticed an awful smell mildew coming from the air conditioning in the second bedroom. We immediately contacted the hotel staff to advise them of the issue. The remedy was to place a scented diffuser in the room. We advised them that this was not an adequate fix. They sent out maintenance. After a second night of our son having to slept in the room and feeling sick. We told them again that the issue was awful. It was never remedied and NO accommodation was made or even offered to move our son to a different room. Just a smile and oh well, we are sorry. The room was unbearable so our son slept with the sliding door open and ac off. Just not okay, especially when booking the best accommodations in the hotel. It still stunk awfully when we left.
Just a mention the bathroom towels were old, yellow hard and scratchy. Something you would fine in a motel 6. We also had friends staying at the hotel that thought exactly the same. "What's up with the cheap towels?"
No pool towels were ever provided for the plunge pool.
Fridge was supposed to be restocked daily but was not fully restocked.
Couple of other issues: We booked a bike temple tour on our last day through the hotel. We were told that would would have enough time to do the tour before check out at 12:30 pm. We left for the tour after breakfast at the hotel. Yet upon pick up tour guide had included breakfast that we had apparently paid for. More importantly we were only able to complete half of the tour. We would not have booked the tour if we had known that. The tour also included lunch which again we did not take due to time constraints but were charged for that too. The tour was wonderful and would highly recommend it but it is def not a half day tour. It was such a shame to cut that short.
Our last lunch was completely botched. My husbands and friends lunch came out and my son and I waited an additional 45 minutes for ours. This seemed to be an ongoing theme with lunch / breakfast at the Table Spoon restaurant. The kitchen sends food out individually as it comes, so you could be finishing a meal before your friends and family get theirs.
We went to spa which was lovely. We wanted to tip our therapists. We asked if gratuity was included. We were told it was NOT. So tipped cashed but learned later when we received the bill that gratuity was indeed included.
FYI: Drinks ordered at the pool take 30-45 minutes even though the pool bar was always quiet.
Lastly, management please review pool music. You have a stunning serene pool setting. Blasting Guns and Roses and Poison is not really what one would expect chilling in such a serene calming environment.
This hotel has great potential but the lack of quality control / management is very transparent. We stayed at four different properties in Indonesia and sadly Adiwana Suweta tremendously missed the mark compared...
Read moreThe staff are at the heart of Adiwana Suweta: the coordination prior to arrival and throughout our stay, and the coordination between front desk, concierge, restaurant and tour guides were one of the best we have ever experienced. Every detail was thought through, every question was responded to (via WhatsApp), and we truly felt seen, heard and understood. A special shout out to Gusti: she is a beautiful treasure and presence at Adiwana and made us feel so warmly welcomed, made us feel right at home and coordinated everything like a mind reader! Nothing was ever a hassle or a problem. You are amazing Gusti! A special mention to all the restaurant staff for serving us nourishing breakfast, afternoon tea and accommodating our diverse dietary requirements. We enjoyed the Indonesian dishes (veggie options were available) for breakfast with healthy fresh fruit blends and a selection of lattes. We loved, loved, loved that we could choose to have our breakfast any time during the day. Thanks for making the eggless cake for a special birthday celebration and bringing it together so well. Highly recommend the cooking lesson with Chef Komang: we learnt so much about creating flavourful Balinese dishes and had an incredible lunch prepared by us! It was loads of fun! The tour guide Yuda is phenomenal and has a deep passion for Ubud, we were privileged to learn from his knowledge, passion and lived experience. Pirlo was great and introduced us to beautiful hiking paths through the rice fields. The hotel is about 3km from town and we caught the Hotel’s free shuttle service or booked Grab to go into town to watch performances. It was lovely to stay a bit further away from all the noise although I did struggle with Ubud not having enough walking paths and stray dogs everywhere. We stayed in a villa with a private pool and stunning jungle views. The kids enjoyed the bottomless cookies, sweet potato crisps, local fruits and snacks that were regularly stocked in the room. It took away price consciousness and the feeling that we were at a hotel, rather made us feel right at home. Wish other hotels make note of these small touches of hospitality. The cleaning and the turn down service was meticulously thoughtful. They have set the bar so high that other hotel experiences feel underwhelming. Overall, all the staff are just incredible at Adiwana Suweta: if you would like a holiday that feels like home away from home, then Adiwana is a wholesome experience to be enjoyed and cherished. Thank you for the most beautiful...
Read moreIt really surprises me that this hotel has an almost excellent rating. Thats not what we saw. At least the 5 nights we stayed.
We were expecting something amazing but we got dissapointed.
Pros: staff is great, amazing, very welcoming, very smily, attentive. Nice, calm and big rooms. The daily replenishment of the minibar and fruit is something amazing and unique of your hotel. Congratulations on that.
Cons: prior to our arrival I received twice the same message offering the activities and costs of some services. It felt like already you were trying to sell at all cost.
Tv: it is listed there are many channels to view, but only 10 of them work. Why list so many channels if only just few are available??
Cleaning: No turn down service for the first 4 nights. Only the last one.
Cleaning is quick and messy. They let the pajamas thrown like dirty clothes on top of the lamp. They did not replace dental kit. All the other 4star hotels we stayed, always replaced them, did we need it or not. There was poop hidden behind the cushions on the couch on the terrace.
Shuttle service arrived 15 minutes late. Twice.
Spa: they charge you +23% when in front desk they told us it was +21%.
Tablespoon: Reading other reviews, I see there has been no change from at least 3 months from now. The service is slow. Really slow. Thats not good at all. And there was no improvement during the 5 days despite complaining the first day. (The last day I had to wait literally 5 minutes to be approached by a waitress. There was only 3 tables occupied, the waitress was cleaning instead of taking my order.)
Breakfast should not be limited. There should not be one main course, one juice…That is really annoying. We are already paying lots of money in a 4-star hotel to have a good breakfast. We felt very limited.
The food is not great. Another thing that really upsetted us was the avocado toast. If it says mashed avocado, why the hell is it not mashed???? They even brought us hard avocado, very difficult to cut. The fruit was not tasty. On the first day, they charged us a bottle of water which we were never told it would be charged. ( yes, it was off the bill, but thats not the point) But… really.. how is it possible??? You’re charging a bottle of water in a 4-star hotel that includes breakfast??? Really?? Thats so low. That was really, really upsetting.
Kimono: we wanted to buy the kimono in the room. They had no stock. Then you should take it...
