I recently visited the bakery with high expectations, given its reputation for tasty treats. While the overall experience had some positive aspects, I encountered a significant issue that needs addressing.
On my last visit, I discovered mold at the bottom of my cake – a rather unpleasant surprise that I only noticed after taking a bite. This unfortunate incident highlights the importance of ensuring the freshness of their products. It's crucial for the bakery to implement rigorous checks to prevent such occurrences.
Another notable concern is the slow service. Waiting times for items like smoothie bowls and tea were excessively long, reaching half an hour and an hour, respectively. Despite calmly inquiring about the delay, I received a rather dismissive response from the kitchen employee, which did not contribute positively to the situation. This lack of acknowledgment or apology for the delays is an area that the bakery should address to enhance customer satisfaction.
Inconsistency in food preparation and order fulfilment was evident during my visit. Some customers received their meals almost cold after a 50-minute wait, while others experienced forgotten portions of their orders. This lack of attention to detail and consistency impacted the overall dining experience.
Communication issues with the staff were also apparent, indicating room for improvement in customer service. The dismissive response from the kitchen employee exemplified a lack of professionalism and empathy toward customers.
The overall quality of service left much to be desired, with the general sentiment being dissatisfaction. Several customers, including myself, found the food to be both subpar and overpriced. This disconnect between cost and perceived value needs addressing for the bakery to meet customer expectations.
In summary, my visit to the bakery was marred by issues of freshness, slow service, inconsistencies in food preparation, and communication problems. These aspects should be a priority for the bakery to ensure a more positive and satisfactory experience for...
Read moreHaving lived in Bali for a few years, I've come to appreciate the vibrant café culture and the warm service that typically accompanies it. Unfortunately, my recent visit to this café fell short of those expectations.
Despite the café being nearly empty, the service was slower than anticipated. My order of infused water took an unusually long time to arrive, and when my eggs on toast were finally served, they seemed to be unseasoned, thus lacking in taste.
What stood out the most, however, was the demeanor of the staff. While I understand that everyone needs moments of levity during their workday, the loud conversations and joking around in the kitchen and behind the counter created an atmosphere that felt more casual than professional. At one point, I even noticed a staff member wearing earphones, which gave the impression that guest service was not a priority.
I believe this café has the potential to be a wonderful spot for both locals and tourists. A bit more attention to the details of service and professionalism could make a world...
Read moreBeing someone who doesn't have any kind of gluten intolerance I usually run the other direction when I see gluten free food. But Mades is a major exception and has become one my favourite spots in The Bud. I lived by this Cafe and have devoured everything in their menu. Their gluten free bread and pasta have great flavour and texture that most if not all gluten free products lack.
It's also a great place to work or just hang out as it's away from the chaos of Jalan Raya. Staff is exceptional and there is also a lovely manager who is very welcoming to all that come in. Whether you are living in Ubud or just traveling through make sure not to miss this gem.
P.s Their brownies are...
