Choosing this place for a quiet night in Ubud, since it's a bit far out from everything else while still near the main road, only 10-15 mins to Central Ubud. When we checked in, we were given complementary drinks. I asked the receptionist, this hotel opened from 2021, just after the pandemic, so it is still fairly recent.
We were brought to the room, the room is huge and the toilet is spacious. They also provided free fruits, while it's not the best fruits, it's a nice gesture. I requested beforehand a romantic decoration for one of the rooms, which they happily obliged and beautifully arranged when we arrived. There are some minor issues with the room though. Some tiles are uneven, the sliding door is not firm so it shakes and makes sound when being hit by wind. The seats on the balcony had cat paws stains. The drainer in the bathtub is stuck and cannot be pushed to drain the water. And since the places are mostly 2 stories, the guest above you might be unruly or noisy if you get the ground floor room. These are not a deal breaker but still it needs more attention. So I cannot give full marks for the room.
It seems the hotel is undergoing some renovation / expansion. The spa rooms below the pool are reconstructed, and they are going to build a more modern reception. The pool itself is not yet cleaned in the morning when I wake up around 7-8 in the morning, since the setting of the place is natural, fallen leaves and dead insects are floating in the pool. It icks me to swim, but some people might be comfortable with that. I also wondered, they have 3 humongous jackfruits from the tree within the compound, but it was left to rot. There seems to be a lack of care for the places. Those can be a great complementary snack for the guest, but it's not done. So cannot give full marks on this as well.
Breakfast is a la carte, we can choose 1 starter, main dish, and get free assorted fruits and juice. The breakfast is fairly good and you're full to start the day. The staff is friendly to greet each guest and do small talks, nothing felt superficial. So service is good and high standards of hospitality.
Overall the hotel has potential, but the room needs a lot of minor fixes to be a perfect stay for stay. The hotel ground itself needs more care and a holistic approach for the guest overall experience...
Read moreWorst ever stay. Extremely poor service. Not worth the money.
Despite the decent location and fairly good rooms, the overall experience was extremely disappointing due to the unprofessional and careless service. I booked a 1BHK Villa (Villa Verda), but to my surprise, it turned out to be just a single bedroom with no hall or kitchen — highly misleading.
I also received a complimentary floating breakfast, which didn't have an umbrella to our brekfast tray though it was raining. And when asked they didn't have one too. Ata place like ubud it is mostly raining and they didn't make any arrangements for the same too.
The in-room safety locker was locked, and when I requested assistance, the staff simply told me to "adjust without a locker for a day" because their technician wasn’t available. Initially, they didn’t even bother to inspect the issue and instead kept asking irrelevant questions.
For a traveler, a functional safety locker is critical — especially in a foreign country where we carry passports and valuables. Instead, I was told to trust their staff and just leave things outside!
No hair dryer was provided in the room — I had to request one specifically.
I was charged Rp 20,000 just to pack my breakfast (which was part of the complimentary meal).
They repeatedly questioned me about paid water bottles, despite my clear response that I hadn’t used any.
Only 250 ml of water per person per day was provided — completely unreasonable for a villa advertised at this price point.
Overall, I felt frustrated, disrespected, and regretful for choosing this property. This was the first time I encountered such unhelpful and dismissive service in Bali.
⚠️ A word of caution: If you choose to stay here, take a video of the room upon check-in and checkout to protect yourself. The chances of being misled or charged unfairly are too high.
Better to avoid Atta Mesari Villas if you're looking for honest service and...
Read moreWe arrived at the early hours in the morning and unfortunately our taxi drove straight past it because the front of the hotel was a building site! We were not informed of this so we were extremely worried when we got there and the taxi driver had to check it was legitimate. We went to reception, though and when we got past the works it was ok. Our room was supposed to be exactly underneath where works were happening so the hotel moved us to another room, which we were also not informed about. This, however, was a good thing as we were moved to a ‘villa’ where we had our own pool. This was a very welcome change as we utilised the pool every day we were there and thoroughly enjoyed our stay a lot more due to this. We felt very safe and like we were in our own little utopia. The room was lovely and the bath was massive! The cleaning staff were efficient and very kind and our room and pool was well maintained. We felt so comfortable and happy in our room. The place as a whole was beautiful and very authentic, and the staff were amazing. We chatted to them a lot and made good friends with them - they were so accommodating. In particular we had a great rapport with Rami. The breakfast food was amazing and so was the main menu - a lot to choose from and all made fresh. The main pool area was beautiful and well maintained and the walkways were littered with gorgeous plants. We couldn’t really see the rice terrace view but that didn’t bother us. The wifi at our room was very poor which was a shame as sometimes we just wanted to relax by our pool and put a movie on, but we weren’t really able to do this. Overall it was an authentic, relaxing stay and if you are a couple who are looking to purely relax and take it easy this is the place for you. The only negative points were that the hotel was partially a building site and the wifi had...
