If I had to describe my stay at Purana in one word it would be PERFECT.
I was able to arrange airport transfer via email prior to my arrival at DPS because I was staying for 5 nights they included the airport pickup. My flight didn’t arrive until late and by the time i cleared immigration it was 10pm, ugh... a man with a sign bearing the hotel logo and my name was directly as i exited to the pickup area. Wyan quickly whisked me off to the car where he had cold water and chilled towels waiting for me.
When I arrived at the hotel Sintya got me checked in quickly and got my breakfast order. She realized i was exhausted and let me know that the next day she could go over the particulars when i was rested. There was a sandwich waiting for me in the room when I arrived. It was such a nice touch.
The next morning, and every subsequent morning, breakfast was delivered to my room and was delish!
When I mentioned that I was walking into town, a driver hopped into the car and offered to drive me to the town center. Ketuit provided me with a what’s app number for pickup should i need it. The anticipation of service was out of this world throughout my stay. I feel like I never had to ask for anything!
Tea time was tasty and the ladies of Purana patiently coached me through making offerings from palm leafs.
I arranged a morning spa service and let me just say, wow. Luhde rocked my world. It was the best massage / spa experience I have ever had! Her skill as a massage therapist was impressive and her client care ensured that every moment of the service was customized for me. The treatment concluded with a flower bath in this gorgeous cement tub and a phenomenal view. I felt like royalty.
Sintya scheduled a half day tour for me and Wyan was my guide. He took me all over and was kind enough to take photos of me doing all of the touristy things. He kept apologizing for his bad English but it was actually very good and he gave me a lot of cool info about the area and the religious holiday that was happening at the time.
So, to make a very long review short... the hotel is impeccably clean. You can’t find a friendlier staff. Food was great. Location is just far enough away from the chaos of being in it all but a quick walk or drive away. I am shocked at the quality of the hotel for the price.
Thank you Purana for such an amazing stay. Your hospitality will not soon...
Read morePurana Suite Ubud far exceeded my expectations! I highly recommend staying here if you're in the area and I hope to visit again some day. The hotel has a boutique feel to it with ~14 units available. The location is very walkable with many popular attractions close by: Sacred Monkey Forest, Yoga Barn, Ubud Palace, Ubud Water Palace, Starbucks, many shops, restaurants, markets, and money changer locations to choose from. ||The hotel has a list of free activities onsite, a free shuttle for the central Ubud area, and they can help book or provide advice or book a variety of tours. You can also arrange for pickup at from Denpasar Airport for a fee. I participated in the free Yoga class, which was exceptional. I ate at the Bale Gajah Resto numerous times and had coffee from the The Bale Bar - both had delicious food, beverages and exceptional service. There is a Sunday Sunset rooftop dinner with live BBQ and Balinese dance performances (300,000 IDR per person at the time of this review). I enjoyed both. ||The infinity pool is very relaxing and was never crowded. Many people swam in it but did so at different times so it's almost like having a pool to yourself. ||Uttam Spa also offers a variety of services, which is located on the upper level. I enjoyed a massage, which comes with a complementary snack and tea. ||The rooms are incredibly clean and comfortable. They have all the necessities that travelers come to expect and provide bottled water, which is refilled daily. There is a mini bar with additional drinks and snacks available for purchase. ||What made my stay the most memorable are the people that work here. EVERYONE is incredibly kind, caring and respectful. They all know your name and remember it. As a solo traveler, I felt completely welcomed just like everyone else. They always ask how your day is, how you slept, if there's anything you need, etc. It doesn't feel like they are asking because they work there - it feels like they actually care. I commented at how friendly everyone is and they responded saying you're like family (probably nicer than some families - haha).||10/10 Recommend!!||Thank you Gali, Ketut, Losi, Adhe, Derek, Dika, Deanna, Tini and the rest of the Purana staff for making this trip...
Read moreThis is by far the best place I've ever stayed in. From the moment we arrived until we got dropped off again, our experience was EXCEPTIONAL! The staff are incredibly attentive and the most friendly team I have experienced. Nothing is ever too much to ask. Their attention to detail is outstanding. Be prepared for Balinese sense of humour :) The hotel itself is a wonderful mix of modern unfinished concrete and wooden elements throughout the hotel. Being transformed from a previous gallery which is still part of the hotel and can be enjoyed on every floor gives the hotel a beautiful artistic flair. The furnishing is modern and well thought through. For a heavenly sleep, the beds are just super comfortable and huge. The pool, oh the pool! The water water temperature is just perfect and so is the size of the pool. If you have kids, there's a shallow area for the little ones to play and enjoy. Daily activities provide for a wonderful way to get to know some of the Balinese culture and traditions. The team offers Balinese offering making, which I can highly recommend, as it is so deeply imbedded in the culture. If you wanted to learn the Balinese dance, the team will be happy to show you as well. Free morning yoga classes on the top deck will start your day right, before heading to the restaurant for a delicious breakfast. The menus for breakfast, lunch and dinner provide for all tastes, without having a huge range, which assures you get fresh produce. You need a Spa/massage? It's right there as well. And if you want to explore the city, there's a free shuttle service within Ubud (although walkable as well). There's a few supermarkets around the hotel, should you need anything. I will be back, for sure! Thanks to the team for an incredibly...
