UPDATE: This place was so great we ended up coming back a second time!
This was the best stay during our 2 month honeymoon in Bali! There were so many amazing things about this hotel, here's a list of our favorites.
The villa with the private pool was a STEAL for the price. It was just divinely decorated, spacious, and very private. Certainly made for the most romantic nights of our honeymoon.
They left us beautiful honeymoon details, including a decoration with a heart felt note!
The grounds were incredible! Everywhere felt peaceful and ancient, it felt like being in a relaxing retreat in the past.
The Museum attached to the hotel and free of charge for guests was a beautiful surprise! We got to see live artists working on their craft, and some incredible works or art displayed all over.
The staff was extremely helpful and just wanted enjoy our time with us. Everything felt genuine, they even wanted to take photos with us because of how much we were enjoying our time there. The owner and founder of the museum and hotel walks the grounds constantly tending to the plants, he never says that he is the owner, just likes to pass as a simple gardener, but then engages you in passionate conversations about how nature is art and art is nature. You can tell that this place is the joy of his life!! We also spend the whole day with our driver Katut, who was just such a joy and generous man!
Finally the food and drink prices for the hotel are of the highest quality and very competitive with the rest of the nice restaurants in Ubud, we reccomend the candle lit dinner and the floating breakfast, along with all of the meals made to order directly to your room.
Seriously, we will remember this place forever and will rave about it to anyone visiting...
Read moreOverall, a fine and spacious resort. We loved our room, the pool, and the museum which was huge and very interesting. The hotel also had a perfect location, next to nice restaurants, Ubud center, but really quiet.
However, we had some bad experiences which shouldn’t have happened in a 1,500k+ IDR a night hotel: Twice in a 30 minute window, housekeeping entered our room at 3AM, even though the door was locked, because they apparently had to wake up a group of people who were sleeping in adjacent rooms. They were able to do so because the room didn’t have an indoor safety lock. During our stay, we were only given two 33cl bottles of water a day per room, out of touch with other accomodations: even 150k IDR a night hostels allowed access to unlimited free potable water. All activities are extremely expensive, whether the classes, transport, or the spa. One hour at the spa costs three times more than other salons just outside the resort, and even though the personnel is really nice, it is just not worth it. Even worse, it was a huge surprise for us to hear that the dance shows, programmed every two days by the hotel were not free, after the staff kept telling us about it ever since we had arrived, implying it was included in our stay. Finally, breakfast was really basic, there was no real bacon (only substitute) and some of the food had a really strange taste.
In the end, an average hotel on exceptional grounds but strangely priced and...
Read moreWe stayed as honeymoon couple in suit room with private pool in July 2025. First of all staff was amazingly helpful and kind, and secondly which is I think very important point for honeymoon couples is this places strategic location. Arma museum resort is located near amazing restaurants such as batubara, rayjin, ivy, merlins, monello and sohaga.
You can simply stay here and enjoy delicious meals in these restaurants. Trust me you will enjoy quite much. And its very cheap! (Very acceptable)
On the other hand this hotel located in the center of the south of ubud with great landcsape. So its basically like you are staying in central park in NY. You stay near and also inside jungle but meantime you are very close to the delicious restaurants.
Basically if you enjoy meals then go for it. But if you are lazy and "I want to rest" people then choose somewhere else maybe because there are iguanas (1,5 meters long), lizards, frogs, and many kind of birds etc. Its like a living in jungle.
If you like nature and meals :) then choose suit rooms. But if you dont then dont.
Room has nice decoration and pool is nice. Also garden is great, but just lights in the room can be lighter more:)
Note: we are Turkish couple, we care cleaning of the room too much thats why er give 4/5 to the rooms, but its very acceptable...
