I was strolling past Pilleyar on Friday night and decided to pop in for dinner because I heard some nice music coming from there. The menu selection was great, the food was delicious...and the music was super cool. It's my first chance to hear some blues being played in Ubud. The musician (Mang Frezy) played solo Acoustic. He played a great range of songs. Some classic blues and some not so well known blues tunes...along with some bluesey songs that he has written himself. We were randomly driving through Ubud, looking for a place to have a brunch. And Pilleyar Bar & Kitchen caught our eye. They have a food menu, suitable for both Western taste and to those who enjoy local cuisine. Food tastes great and you can really smell a cup of coffee from a distance. Juices are a great addition to it. It's a nice atmosphere, even though the place is next to a relatively busy road, and staff is (traditionally for Ubud) warm and helpful.
