Went here for lunch today and had the worst seafood chowder ever. Chowder for me has always been creamy with lots of different fish and shellfish . Not here! What I got was a vegetable soup with carrots and celery and a few microscopic pieces of salmon and even fewer small pieces of of the same white fish. No cream, no prawns, no mussels, no smoked fish. €8.50 for a very basic vegetable soup with three tiny pieces of hard wheaten bread. When I finally picked up the courage to complain the waiter asked if I would like some more. Not flaming likely. My wife had a chicken wrap which she enjoyed. Read moreWe stopped in at Crews on our way from Wexford to Kerry for a quick early dinner last night. We did not have a booking but we were made to feel very welcome by the gentleman at the door. The service was warm and friendly without being intrusive. Both the gentleman and a Beautiful young lady served us they were both efficient with the service style being maintained even when the restaurant filled up. The food was simply perfect. I opted for the beef burger and my companions both had trout. all of our food was top class finished off with a warm brownie that was to die for.
