Hotel ok, it is absolutely NOTHING like the photos which I was very shocked at. Completely and uttering different!! ||Good Points - Clean, comfortable bed, Breakfast OK, close to Rail, Tram Line is at the end of the road and central for attractions. ||Bad Points - this is not a hotel or a spa! The photos are nothing like what you see, our room was completely different, the spa ( is a hot tub & sauna and €40 for 2 hours minimum 2 people), Check in was just a key handed to me, no explanation of anything, no bar area, no lounge area to sit, nothing. The hotel staff are ok if you speak to them but do not go out of their way to converse or help. The breakfast area is not how the photo is, it's basically a kids playground with a few cramped in chairs and tables. Although the breakfast is constantly refilled they are miserable and tell you off for putting a clean cup on the table ( which didn't have a table cloth ) The coffee machine is open all day/ night however the milk is padlocked away in the fridge - not helpful !! The yard is literally just that, a yard. Noise travels up from the ground and at 5am this morning the hotel staff were very noisy. Situated between 2 hostels in a road with contact road works ( I get it had to be done). They're are so many nicer hotels ( as I say this is not a hotel, it is a bed & breakfast at best! ) Overall luckily the bed was clean and comfortable but that's it's saving grace! Wouldn't go back unless huge...
Read moreMedium quality hotel with good location but terrible breakfast (coffee is not good which is strange as you are in Italy). Too less fruits and vegetables offered, a lot of unhealthy although mostly tasty stuff, with an overall unpleasant smell of the kitchen which makes it not really inviting. The taste is ok though as mentioned, and there is a decent variety. Most positive is the fresh tomatoes and olives, which combine with scrumbled egg (basic without any herbs or spices other than salt) very well, and the assortment of yoghurt and puddings is nice although not home made. The showers are a bit cold initially (you need some patience), but beds are cosy and well-prepared every day, which is important for a short term stay. Streets are not quiet in the night, so keeping the windows open is not a real option. Can be recommended for a few days, although the price is not good for the quality shown. If you wish to have more luxury, like you would if planning a honeymoon or similar, this would not be the right place. However, if you are in Florence for sightseeing, and you plan your breakfast externally, it is a good and central location, near the main station, the dome, and piazza St. Lorenzo. Trams and busses are nearby (at the main...
Read moreMyself and my friend both 22 yrs old visited for a vacation!! Upon arrival we were greeted by an extremely polite young man.. Great english ( as that’s all i and my friend speak) and helped us with everything. Room was bigger than expected and had a beautiful window ( our view was the playground) but the window did not disappoint. We felt extremely safe, as well as the location is great! we walked about 15-30 minutes MAX, for everything we visited! Convenience store across the street that sells drinks, wine toiletries candy gum and just a few snack items. Shower was great, pressure as well as temperature. We had a package with breakfast included but sadly didn’t make it down once so cannot comment on that. Air conditioning was a must as we took multiple breaks just to come back and cool off. Mini fridge included as well as a safe and a small rack to hang clothes. Only downfall is no body mirror (as a young girl you just always want one)! We checked out at 5:30 am and had no problems as someone is always at the desk! Great experience and if returning to florence will 110% be back at Hotel mia...
