Very typical building, well located, close to downtown and near a subway station. The room was very spacious and well decorated. Unfortunately, many inconveniences!||The first one: the city tax. It is announced that the city tax was 1,50€ per person per day. Instead of charging the 9€ expected for this tax, we were charged 20€ for no reason.||Second one: the soundproofing between the different rooms rented from this apartment! We had a rude awakening in the middle of the night by violent hits on the floor above our head! We finally understood that our snoring had awoken the unhappy occupants who rented, without us knowing, nearly the same room as ourselves. Indeed, a simple mezzanine in wood closed by a wall of frosted glass separated us! Needless to say, we had no privacy. Very average for a romantic weekend!||3rd problem: our shower cubicle was too small. If you have a little belly, it is impossible to enter (less than 30cm opening). My partner was unable to shower over 3 days, so he had to "shower" in the sink, and no solution was proposed by the hosts!||4th difficulty: breakfasts. We paid for a 3 night stay, including breakfasts. On the first morning, a simple breakfast was served by our hosts. The 2nd morning: the breakfast was self-service. Apart from cereals, no fresh products to eat. Finally, the 3rd morning: nothing! Only the chairs were over the tables!||Apparently, this apartment was entirely intended for tourist rental. To the owners: wanting to do tourism business is a real job that requires a minimum of seriousness. The service wasn't really up to what...

Read moreWe checked in to di Carafa after our original Airbnb turned out to be a pitch black sweatbox with nothing but a couple of postcards on the wall for a view. ||||Compared to that prison cell, di Carafa was a dream! Aircon, free wifi, a toilet that doesn't need your feet in the shower to use. Hell, we could even watch the England match on the TV. ||||Objectively, the place is pretty great. Set inside a quiet, but incredibly grand, old villa, di Carafa is a silent oasis away from the biker beeps and suspect smells of the city streets. We had a bit of trouble checking in, but that's to be expected from a family run business getting a last minute booking with half an hour's notice. ||||Francesca, who provided breakfast every morning, was wonderful, and knew a lot about the city (especially where to get incredible local pastries).||||Di Carafa is a decent enough little BnB - perfect for a lone traveller or couples on a budget tour, but might not be up to scratch if you're looking for something more boutiquey or instagrammable. Big love to...
