This is exactly the sort of place we wanted to stay in in Polignano a Mare and it didn't disappoint. |We entered the historic centre by the stone arch and were immediately caught up in the atmosphere of the old limestone buildings, streets and alleyways.|Dimora Anderi (B&B Anderi) is a 2 minute walk from the arch, just off the main square. |The instructions and communications offered by the hosts were spot on and promptly available by WhatsApp. There is no reception on site but they open the door for you remotely.|Perfectly clean and spotless room and en suite, lovely. Pristine white sheets and towels are changed every day. Beautiful exposed stonework in the room along with traditional furniture and several windows letting in light. The room had a 'fridge and tv and we upgraded to the room at the top which had a delightful roof terrace from which you could see the Adriatic in two different directions plus views across the rooftops - this area had comfortable seating, a lounger and a shower where you can cool off (but not at the end of January, of course). |The steps up to the room are steep and deep but it was well worth the climb and we would definitely stay there again. Tons of atmosphere - perfect.|It was our Golden Wedding Anniversary while we were there (and the purpose of the trip) and the hosts left us a complimentary bottle of wine to celebrate, so nice.|There is no restaurant, bar or reception there, but you are in Italy, so simply step out of the door and visit the many local places to eat and drink on...

Read moreIf you're headed to Polignano a Mare, this is a great place to stay. It's right in the middle of the main square and walking distance to the beach. It's clean and modern. We had the little room with the balcony, which was worth the upgrade. The host even walked us to move our car to free parking. The only negative, is that the shower leaked all over the bathroom floor no matter what we tried.||||We did have a bit of trouble checking in, please note there is NO reception. You need to make an appointment with the host to let you in. We did not know this and my phone didn't work internationally, so it caused frustration and fear when we arrived late morning and everything was closed up. Once we borrowed a stranger's phone and called a couple of hours later, he came and met us at the check in time. I would say this was just as much our fault as his, but it should be made clear you need to plan in advance. ||||Once we got the key, everything was great. The breakfast was so lovely - definitely recommend making a reservation to sit on the balcony overlooking the sea - it was a very special experience. Also, note, if you want to go swimming at the beach, bring water shoes, the whole beach is made of rocks.||||Overall, a very picturesque little town and a nice...
