This family run hotel, set to the edge of the town of Innichen is a great example of how things should be done. For me, I don’t want ‘home from home’, I like to be looked after and to be made to feel that I’m on holiday, and that’s exactly what the Tyrol does.|The attention to detail on all fronts is second to none. Observing at breakfast time the care with which the staff polished each item of tableware whilst laying up for the evening service was a lesson in how to do it right. This extended through to the friendly but professional waiting staff and the food served both in the dining room and the bar canapés, all of which were beautifully presented. The Thursday evening dessert buffet was not only a feast for the eyes but a delight for the taste buds!|The daily servicing of our well appointed room was exemplary, even the wooden stool in the bathroom had protective felt on the bottom of its legs to ensure a smooth and quiet glide across the tiled floor. One small note for file, a door stop is needed on the floor in the bathroom of room 329. The inside door handle is beginning to make an indentation on the wall tile when the door is opened fully.|The Spa and Wellness Centre is also well serviced providing all that is required after a full day of skiing, also the gym is adequate for holiday training. I was fortunate to squeeze in a massage during my stay and as with everything else here, it was very good. Thanks to each and everyone at the Tyrol for a great experience,...
Read moreThis is one of the better ski hotels I have stayed in and everything from the rooms to the amenities to the food & drinks to the staff was top notch!
Rooms - the rooms were comfortable and ours had a balcony overlooking the mountains ensuring every morning you wake up to a great view.
Amenities - the hotel is well-equipped with a spa with mutliple saunas, a steam room, a pool and a jacuzzi. Also the masseuse gives amazing massages. PS: the sauna and steam rooms are mandatory swimwear off.
Food & Drinks - honestly, this was the highlight of our trip. We took a half-board option and breakfasts were buffet style and were hearty. Vegetarian omelettes were my favourite and they whip up a perfect flat-white! Now onto the dinner - I mean seriously this was epic! 4-course meals everyday - to start with a daily changing mix of cold cuts, sushi, salads and a soup then followed by primi - every single pasta dish every night was exceptional, onto the secondi - choice between meat and fish and then the desserts, A+++ to every dish!
Staff - what made this experience so fantastic was the amazing staff, from the reception to the bar to the dinner / breakfast service. The staff were so friendly and nice and always made you feel welcome.
Would come back here...
Read moreI have just returned, with a friend, from I think my fifth visit to this wonderful hotel and once again it far exceeded my expectations. The location just off the centre of San Candido, but in a quiet position, is excellent for shopping and for local transport. We used the buses and trains which run frequently and efficiently to most places in the area. But what sets this hotel apart is the comfort of the rooms and public areas, the excellence of the food and above all the friendliness and attention to detail of the owning family and all the staff. One gets the impression that this is genuine and not 'put on.' I should also mention the excellent and peaceful Wellness Area where we both enjoyed relaxing massages, perfect after a day in the beautiful mountains.|I have been fortunate to stay in many first class hotels in many places in the world but I can definitely say that this is my favourite hotel by a long way. It is truly a home away from home for me and I can’t wait to return before long. Thank you to everyone who made our...
