We had a fantastic stay in Rome at the Federici Guest House.||Our room was very clean and comfortable and the air conditioning was efficient, with the hot daytime temperatures in Rome. There was always a fresh, fragrant smell in the room when we entered too.||Fabio was a great host; very helpful on arrival with local knowledge and provided us with a map and suggested routes/areas of interest. He showed us around the accommodation, with use of the lounge area which was full of books and travel guides to Rome and Italy, fridge and tea making facilities are in a communal area, as is breakfast.||Breakfast was lovely; a simple selection of boiled eggs, cheese, prosciutto ham, fresh bread, croissants, pain au chocolat, cereal, fruit juice, coffee and biscuits. Thanks to the lady who served us. Just enough to set us up for the day.||Location is perfect for the Vatican City, just a 10 minute walk away and all other major tourist hotspots are to the south of the city. We walked to the Colesseum, along the river bank and this was a good hour's walk. Fabio ringed all the sights of special interest on our map and we found it very easy to navigate our way around. He even told us where we could expect to find Pokémon cards for our son back home :-)||The accomodation was quiet and relaxing; a nice escape from the streets of Rome, with the added bonus of a free water bottle filling station (both still and sparkling) in the street outside and the convenience of the Ottaviano metro station opposite.||We are looking forward to returning...
Read moreWonderful location with metro station right outside. Very close to the Vatican and many wonderful attractions. We found we could walk for @ half an hour to a good many of them. For those not into walking, the metro is right there. Our room was large, clean and comfortable. Breakfasts were delicious and plentiful. Fabio the host was great to deal with, very friendly and also gave us details of his favourite places to eat authentic Italian food (Zia Rillo...great food). ||The only problem we had was finding ourselves on the wrong floor the 1st night where there is another hotel/guest house for the same company and we couldn't get in. Eventually we found out that we needed to be on a different floor. (Many thanks to the owner of the restaurant on the street who came up to help us and told us this... he lives in the same building!!!) ||A great place. Very highly...
Read moreI visited Rome with my partner over the May bank holiday weekend.||We had been recommended Federici by friends and were not disappointed. Fabio was very welcoming and friendly, ensuring we knew our way around, had breakfast early on our day of checking out and a driver to the airport (50€).||The rooms are relatively basic but extremely clean and well maintained. The bed was really comfortable, giving us great nights of sleep after long days walking around the city.||The location is brilliant too. About a 5-10 minute walk to the Vatican and near to several transport routes and nice restaurants.||We fully recommend a visit to Federici, couldn't fault anything with the service or guest house accommodation for the price we...
