We went here tonight (25/8/23) and unfortunately we have left disappointed. We arrived just before 7, which online is the opening time, to be told they opened at half past. It wasn’t a problem as we went to a little bar down the road. We got there and were seated in the back where no one else was which was nice so we could talk but we felt like we got forgotten about. It took a good 5 mins to get any menus and then another 10 or so to order and then wait times between each corse was long. Food was pleasant but we were given a pot of parmesan cheese which was FULL of ants!! Not one or two almost more ants than cheese! My husband took this away from the table and handed it to a waiter who quickly took it. The original waited returned with a new pot and just said ‘it’s never happened before’ but was almost laughing and came across a little smug to us. We weren’t offered anything to say sorry such as anything taken off the bill or even a drink which maybe would’ve made the situation a little better. When it came to get puddings one of the waiters only offered us tiramisu or another option but we had seen the menu for puddings and there was maybe 7 options. He said he would get us a menu to check but never returned. Whilst the food was nice the long waiting times and situation with the ants (especially how it was handled) left us feeling annoyed on our last night in Rome. We also noticed there was a price difference from the online menu to the one we got which. Wish we had gone somewhere else and half tempted to call...

I wish i could leave zero stars for this place. Me and my wife were tired from visiting the Vatican and our toddler had just fallen asleep so were looking for somewhere to rest and just have drinks because we had lunch at the Vatican and were not hungry and we found this place and were served by an older man and we said to him "just drinks" and he sat us down and we ordered drinks then came back with our order quickly but was pushing for us to order food even though we had just said drinks only but we ended up ordering dessert but the server said to us "this isn't a bar" beforehand in a rude tone so right away we were made to feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome. The dessert was ok but was spoiled by the attitude of how it was put in front of us. Then it came to settling the bill and he saw i was holding my bank card and as he was clearing the plates he quickly yanked the card out of my hand and went inside as we were sitting outside, then a little while later he came with the receipt and said cash only which we found a bit weird seen as he just took our card, we paid him in cash but we checked Internet banking later on and there was a transaction for the same amount as he charged in cash from that restaurant so we were charged double. Taken someone's card and swiping it themselves is surely like theft and forgery. Unacceptable behaviour and doesn't represent his country very well. I would stay away from this place if you want to avoid being robbed and served with a...

  1. Do not go here if you are a tourist looking for the wheel cheese or “served from pecorino” experience! 2) Not worth it unless you are specifically wanting to eat food on a budget. The only good thing here was the price ($15-$25 for pasta). 3) Their house wine is really bad

My dad and I really wanted to go to a place that served pasta from a cheese wheel and we saw several videos referencing this place. We made a reservation and got there in time. From the moment we got there it took about 20 minutes to ask for water, even though it was not very busy at the time. — Since we were seated in a tight corner I out of the gate asked if they served pasta from the pecorino and if they did it in front of you and they said yes. So we thought the wait would be worth it!

It took about an hour, until the waiter brought us our plates (no wheel cheese/“served from pecorino”). Apparently they had done it from far away and “we didnt look”. So disappointing! Specially since we had told them we there for that one experience. We later saw them do it to a table a couple of ft in front of us and saw we didnt miss much anyway. I recommend you go somewhere else for good food and service.

I had read the negative reviews and thought we would have a different experience. Dont do it! Go somewhere else. We spent about $50 in uber to get to this place and eat mediocre pasta and wine in Rome. Yikes.

As awful as you can imagine!!! We’ve booked the table for 1pm, and arrived perfectly on time. We even told them at the very beginning that we’ve got a train in the afternoon. However we waited until 3pm, before that we asked them 1000 times kindly if they can hurry up a bit for bringing the food, except at the beginning they brought us some breads and 2 starters(one served not as we requested), but not bring our any main courses, just continue to bring us breads(2€ for a basket). People coming here is for breads?? Ridiculous. Also all the tables arrived later than us, they’ve finished all their meals way more earlier than us. We received incredibly arrogant attitude with NO APOLOGY AT ALL, they made excuses of saying because we ordered starters, that’s why we don’t get our main dishes. Are you ok guys??? They also did a revenge to us, because we argued for our rights - gave us all the food in very small portion ON PURPOSE. Can you believe the pasta in the photo is 14€ but pasta tasted like melted noodles? As a ‘historical’ restaurant, this is how they serve clients, and nobody deserves it.

The food was absolutely lovely. My partner and I shared the ‘prosciutto e mozzarella di bufala’ and the ‘burrata con pere, miele e scorza di arancia’. The burrata with pears, honey, and orange zest, it was a beautiful recommendation. It had a subtle sweetness that was perfectly balanced, never overpowering, and absolutely delicious. For the main course, we both had the ‘amatriciana servita nella forma di pecorino’. The pasta was prepared and served directly in a pecorino cheese wheel, right in front of us. I loved the fact that they served it this way, it was such a unique and memorable touch to see. The same goes for the tiramisu. This was the best tiramisu I’ve ever had in my life, but you wouldn’t expect anything less when it’s made fresh right in front of you. This restaurant is truly one of my favorites in Rome. The combination of authentic flavors, beautiful presentation, and exceptional service makes it unforgettable. I’ll definitely be back!
