Avalon Roma — Local services in Rome

As someone who doesn't speak much Italian, I was lucky to find Avalon Roma.

I play Magic: The Gathering and I was afraid that the language barrier would be too much for me to play during my four month stay in Italy. However, the staff and players at Avalon were exceptionally friendly, and were more than willing to speak in English, translate Italian, and even teach me Italian when I needed it.

I wanted to grab some single cards in Italian as gifts for friends while I was in Rome last week. The store has big selection of singles that were really easy to go through. The staff were incredibly friendly, warm, and helpful. They made me feel right at home despite my very limited Italian. The visit reminded me of magic's ability to bring people together no matter where you are.

Visited Avalon Roma while on vacation in Rome. Fantastic space. The owner is charming and very helpful. The majority of the games are in Italian, there are select copies which have other languages (English is obviously my preferred language). The owner kindly selected a number of specifically Italian made games without language requirement, and some with minor language requirements. He explained the basic genres, and how they functioned.
