It really pains me to give this rating. We visited OperArt last night for late night wine and dessert and it was wonderful. Aly, our waiter was kind and service was great. The ambience with live music (jazz) made our night so much more enjoyable so we came back tonight for a second time to try dinner, expecting the same, wonderful experience. Dinner was steep and very disappointing. We ordered a Florentine steak which came out to €63 just for the steak, which would have been fine if it tasted like €63 steak. The steak was especially fatty so we had to cut out at least 25% of it so what was left on our plate after eating was 250g of large, chunks of fat and tendon which was inedible. On top of that, when our waiter was preparing the sizzling steak table side, he managed to drop the bone on the ground after cutting 85% of the meat off. If this steak was €25 fine, no big deal but at €63, I expected to eat every gram of this meat up until the bone so that was very disappointing when the bill came and I noticed the steak at full price when part of it did not make it onto my plate. (Photo attached of what 63€ will get you here). We also ordered a side of grilled vegetables which seemed to be forgotten after reminding the waiter after our steak arrived. We were halfway through the meat before the vegetables came. We expected them to be hot since I assumed they forgotten so had to fire real quickly but to my dismay, they were not even warm. They tasted fine but would have been nice if they were at least warm but they came cold. I'm not sure if that's just how they serve grilled veggies here but most places grilled items are generally hot. This was so disappointing that our vegetables weren't even executed properly that night. The chocolate molten lava cake I ordered and loved last night came tonight, partially hot and partially cold and congealed in the center. I did not want to post the video because it was embarrassing how it looked. We were hoping to get a video of the hot melted chocolate goodness oozing out, only to be met with a semi hard, congealed blob of chocolate in the middle. All and all, tonight's experience was so disappointing. I do think there are redeeming factors of this restaurant and the food but tonight's meal was very difficult to swallow. We were expecting to pay $$$ because we were expecting 5 star food but we instead, left feeling duped of our money. Others may have had a different experience but unfortunately that was ours tonight. We will not be retuning for a 3rd time.

OperArt is undoubtedly the crown jewel of dining experiences in Rome! My partner and I had the pleasure of indulging in their culinary delights during our recent visit, and we were absolutely blown away. From the moment we stepped in, the ambiance captivated us with its elegant and inviting atmosphere and beautiful live music. The staff greeted us warmly, making us feel like cherished guests. The service was not just exceptional but truly memorable – attentive without being intrusive, and always ready with insightful recommendations. Now, let's talk about the food – oh, the food! The pasta dishes were a symphony of flavours, each bite bursting with authenticity and creativity. It's clear that the chefs at OperArt have mastered the art of Italian cuisine. And to accompany these delectable plates, the wine selection was nothing short of exquisite. Our taste buds were treated to a delightful dance of flavours as we savoured the perfect pairings. And then, there was the most unforgettable moment of our dining experience – the pistachio semifreddo. A dessert so divine, it almost brought tears to my eyes. The delicate balance of pistachio flavours, the smooth and creamy texture, and the artistic presentation combined to create a masterpiece on a plate. It was not just a dessert; it was a symphony of emotions and sensations, a sweet finale that will forever linger in my memory. If you want true Italian food, homemade pasta that feels like it was crafted by Italian grandmothers, and an incredible wine selection that complements every bite, OperArt is the place to go. I simply couldn't fault this restaurant. It delivered a perfect dining experience both times we visited. What sets OperArt apart is its consistency. We were so enamoured by our first visit that we couldn't resist returning for a second culinary adventure. And guess what? The magic was repeated, with each dish and sip as delightful as the last. I can confidently say that I will visit Rome again simply to have the privilege of attending this restaurant. OperArt has become an essential part of our Rome itinerary, a culinary haven that we eagerly anticipate revisiting.

We met the head Manager. He wore glasses. Very theatrical. Our last night in Rome we wanted a special experience. We asked for well done steak no blood( we are Irish) so he promised us this cut of meat. Tomahawk steak. ( did not realise it was so think). Just asked for 2 well done steaks with veg and salad. His theatrical experience brought us into buying a steak that was cooked beside us. A lovely guy cooked it. So we cut it open the blood flowing out. Ok he got it wrong so we sent it back to be recooked. We nibbled on the Veg. It came back out with bits still in blood. So disgusting. The guy that owned it in white hair came out and apologised. We agreed to pay for the bottle of wine but not the food. We recieved a bill for €57. The manager obviously told his boss that we were in the wrong and they called us disgusting people. I have never felt more humiliated before. I am sure people enjoy the food here but the way I was treated oh the back with the manager ( the theatrical guy in the glasses. Looks like the guy who steals the chimpmunks from Dave in Alvin and chimpmunks movies) anyways his all talk and when things don’t go his way what he did not call me. He is rude, condescending and above all fake. Don’t go here worst experience in Rome. Never ever ever again. We did not pay for the steak. We gladfully paid for the wine, but when they demanded and I mean demanded we paid for the salad and cold veg we nibbled on well that was the final straw. Anyways we ended up paying for it as the way they made me feel was the worst I have ever felt in my life. Told me I was wrong even this was the manager that had said if you don’t like the dinner I’ll pay for it if will be so good. His nothing short of horrible and I don’t say this lightly. My partner was horrified the way they treated us. Thank god there were 2 ladies from wales there. Catherine and ?? But they heard it all and they were so put out by our experience. They gave us their plate of fries ( which I have to say were so tasty) but they got charged for a salad they ordered but never recu. Anyways don’t go here. Customer is always right but in this case we were humiliated in front of everyone saying we were wrong. Don’t mind the food not right but it was the way we were treated by the staff. A big shout out to the tall guy Ali who was so kind and...

We came and the waiter was very pleasant, told us best restaurant in Rome., it was our last night in Rome which we had a great time. We ordered a bottle of wine which was very nice. We then asked waiter for a nice steak, but well done as we do not want any blood. Waiter said that we should have the tomahawk steak which would be cooked to our liking, so we agreed as it was our last night in Rome. Waiter said if we did not like the steak he would he would pay for it himself if we did not like it, so we were very impressed,so we ordered.

We got our steak which was at best rare to medium with blood, which is fine if that's what you like. We asked waiter to bring it in and cook more as that was what we had ordered, " well done". We finally got our steak back and steak was still blood running, so we complained as we felt was our right. We once again Complained and the waiter said he could not cook this type of steak anymore as well done as we asked was not good for this type of steak, we preceeded to tell waiter why did he sell us this type of steak then if it was not recommended for a well done cook. We said we would pay for our wine as it was very nice, but we would not be paying for our dinner as it was not as we asked. The owner came out and said he would not charge us for the steak as it was not as we asked, and we were happy with that. We asked for our bill and in the bill was the veg and side salad bill on it but we never got to eat them as they were part of our steak meal. We argued that the wine was all we should be paying but the management were adamant that we should pay for everything outside of our steak, we agreed but they were implying to us that it was our fault and insisted us to pay for everything outside of the steak, we did as we did not want a big scene, but made us feel very guilty about it all. Would not recommend this restaurant as we feel did not take into consideration our situation. Management were very rude how the spoke to.us But another waiter called Ali , did his very best to help us were he could but was over ruled by management.yo him I say thank you for all his help and much...
