Did not have time for breakfast (included, but as we had an early flight, could not enjoy). Hotel arranged for transfers from cruise port (about 70 minutes) and airport (about 15 minutes at 3:00 AM in the morning) for a fee. Also their on-line service was prompt, when the airline changed our flights, to change our transfer times. Staff speaks very fluent English and is knowledgable about the area. Bicycles are availble to rent right in the lobby (€15.00 per day). Located just across the road from a public beach with many nearby resturants. Nice cement pier with many young and young at heart couples, doing what young couples do (see picture). Public walking mall about 1 block away that comes alive at night in a family friendly way (See pictures, one in daytime one at night) With many very nice resturants and gelato shops. Area felt safe and secure, and we had no issues, but still, it is a tourest town be mindful of your surroundings. This hotel had exactly what we were looking for while waiting for our connecting flight. We would stay here again if in Rome. Rome is within easy reach via a trian to the...
Read moreOverall we had a okay stay but unfortunately there were really disturbing things as well, such as the room being too small for two people, the noise coming from outside at nights (like singing with microphones and too many people out), right down of the hotel there is a Mcdonald's and somehow it gets toooo over crowded especially at night and it makes the entrance of the hotel so dirty with a lot of trash bags waiting for to be picked up. Only thing I am fully satisfied with the hotel is how it is located with a train station that makes you able to combine to travel to the city center of Rome and the people who work there especially a sweetest soul named Lucia at the breakfast buffet in the mornings. Buffet for the breakfast is also not too bad. For the beach I thought it was included to what we paid, but no, you have to also pay like 21 Euros each time for a beach that they have a deal. At least in the beach there are a lot of options to eat, drink and everything is reasonable priced. Wifi at the hotel ( talking for the first floor) was working really...
Read moreAlthough small, the rooms had everything you needed and a comfortable bed. The terrace overlooking the sea is about 3/4 the size of the bedroom and is supplied with table and chairs as well as a loveseat. It was very private on terrace. Very clean and bathroom well done. Front desk personnel friendly, courteous and helpful. The location was wonderful with an excellent restaurant, Osteria Toscanelli, steps from front door. Many eateries, beautiful beach with changing rooms to rent during season. When visiting Italy, we usually return our car then stay in Rome a few days before leaving for home. This year we chose to try Lido di Ostia and are so happy with our decision. After returning our rental car, the hotel's shuttle bus picked us up at the airport. The town is walkable, no car needed. The shuttle bus returned us for airport departure and at a very reasonable price. This will be our final place to stay before leaving for home now. Hotel La Scaletta is a gem in...
