Hotel with exceptional service!
We stayed 3 nights at the Maison Tritone. Hotel has a good bunch of potential, but also some odd cons.
Every one of the staff members were really customer first thinking, for example straight when we arrived, young man at the reception told us little bit services around. And the lady at breakfast served all drinks to the table every morning, and when we were leaving the hotel last time, young lady from reception helped our luggage to the taxi! Perfect service.
Breakfast is one of this hotels best parts. There is plenty of options to choose from, much better than many other city hotel has to offer!
Rooms were very clean and nicely decored, and they were also clened every day!
Now for the cons. Hotel is part of the big building, and the entrance of the hotel is really shady metalgate in the wall with only little hint that there is actual hotel at all. After entering through that gate we were standing under some staircase without no knowledge were should we go next. So this is something really odd, and some people might even turn around. Some better logos or something should be there to indicate where you have arrived, and where you should go to find reception.
After little bit looking, we found a door at the second floor, door looked like someone individual could actually live there. After stepping on we immediately noticed that the hotel gives way more bigger impression via pictures than it actually is.
Another con is that Italian law control AC usage off and on season, while off season AC could not used for cold air, on season Its capabilities are restricted to only allow rooms to be around 25c which is really hot for many people to sleep in. And sleeping with windows open is not an option. So without AC air is not moving, and with AC it is blowing hot air..
Hotel is located along one of the biggest Rome city center roads, and therefore constant mad noices are coming to the rooms. Even though the windows were sealed quite good, but motorcycles, busses, emergency vehicles were contantly buzzing past the building. So if you are sensitive sleeper, I would not recommend this hotel.
But all together Maison Tritone ended up quite a good choice, and we enjoyed our 4 day stay at the Rome with Maison Tritone good service, even though the sleep we...
Read moreThis is a great family run boutique hotel in a great location to walk to key attractions such as the Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Colosseum. Also very close to Barberini metro and bus stops. We used the metro and buses a lot so that was important to us (in addition to running up 25k footsteps a day!)
Strengths: great location family run and keen to help large room, ample for two adults plus 13 year old. Recently opened, clean, modern and well equipped. fab rainfall shower high tech tv, lights and shower included breakfast, fresh and pleasant quiet room despite being central. nice shower gel. very safe area.
Minor areas for improvement: needed more reachable shelving, there wasn’t much storage for 3 people for a week, plus hanging very high. breakfast didn’t start until 7:30. When we arrived we told receptionist/owner that on two days we’d be going out at 7am, he assured us that we could pick up a couple of croissants each to take with us. Unfortunately the lovely breakfast lady is fiercely protective of her breakfast area and nobody gets in before 7:30. At 7 she said she had nothing. At 7:15 pastries were laid out but she wouldn’t let us take any. At 7:27 she held up three fingers to us and still wouldn’t let us in. She made us feel like naughty children. So… firstly on a city break, 7:30 is a bit late to start. Secondly, if it has to be nothing until 7:30, set that expectation in advance so we can plan accordingly.
A 7:30 breakfast was really our only minor irritation. Many tours/sites are better when you go early. Otherwise I totally recommend this small hotel. We were very comfortable.
Note that from the quaint lift, button 2 takes you to main reception. Rooms are over floors 1 and 2 (European numbering where 1 is one up...
Read moreWhile visiting Rome we booked our stay here. Having never been to Rome before we didn’t have a point of reference for where to stay, but we chose this hotel because it was within walking distance of so many attractions. Once we arrived, we enjoyed how quick the walk was to places like The Coliseum, The Pantheon, Piazza Novana, Trevi Fountain, etc.||Checking in was very quick and easy and the young lady who checked us in was very helpful and friendly. The young man working there was also very helpful and friendly. He assisted us in bringing our luggage up to the level where our room was. Additionally, he assisted us with checking out and getting our luggage outside. When we checked out there was some sort of public transportation strike and we couldn’t find a cab to hail. We also couldn’t use Uber, as those were not replying to our requests via the app. So, he walked us up the taxi stand to look for a cab, when we noticed there were none and there was a long line of people waiting, we took the metro. He assisted us with getting down into the station and with buying the ticket too. Their service here goes above and beyond! Even the lady working the breakfast buffet was very helpful. She made our coffee and fresh-squeezed orange juice, as well as answered questions and helped with anything else.||The property is interesting as it’s very modern, yet it’s set in a very old building. The room we got was tiny, but had all the amenities you would need, as well as a hot tub, bidet, large TV, etc. The bed was firm and nicely comfy too. Everything in the room was operational and new. ||Breakfast was included and it was pretty nice. It featured locally made items and baked goods. ||Definitely would recommend a stay here when...
